Rude staff

wonderful selection of old lady glassware, overshadowed by extraordinarily overbearing old man that made me and likely the lady volunteering at the counter very uncomfortable. Back off please we are strong independent women who don't need no man

I had spotted a couple of books being donated, asking if I could have them. Was told to return in two days once they were priced and they would put them aside. Two days later was told ?they were no use to us?. Well, they were of use to me and I?d have gladly paid money to the charity to get them. These people are idiots.

I guess it?s good if you want to shop for books by the colour of the spine ? But if you do you should probably be locked up.

It's a really good charity shop with a good range of items. They have the usual clothing but also some nice tea sets and other unique items. The staff was really nice and kind. We're giving 4 stars because while some items are well priced, some are arbitrary for the condition they are in. You can't be sure what you are buying is the correct price. Otherwise, it's really nice to browse and support the charity because it's likely you will find something you like.

Staff was very rude to me and wouldn't let me enter to return my clothes despite arriving before closing time.

Not only are the prices in this shop a joke, but they put out jumpers with holes in them and charge extortionate prices! My partner and I were in the shop on Friday and noticed a man`s wine coloured cashmere jumper (priced £29.95) had a hole in the front of it. When we pointed out to one of the volunteers, informing her an elderly with bad eye sight may buy the jumper (and subsequently notice the hole when they get home), she made it clear she didn`t want to know. When we went in the shop the next day the jumper was still hanging up on the rail for the price of £29.95; it hadn`t been labelled as damaged and marked down accordingly.Given that I purchased 3 new cashmere jumpers in John Lewis sale for my son at the cost of £39.95 each, paying £29.95 for one which has been worn, is washed out and has a hole in the front of it, is taking the proverbial!Charity shops are allowed to get away with ripping off customers in a way which no other shops would be allowed to!I personally did volunary work in a charity shop, and was appalled at the high prices they charged for often washed out clothes with dirty marks on them. On one occassion I handed in a jacket I`d bought from Primark for £10.00 and the manager charged £20.00 for it, even although I had told her I`d only paid half that amount. She said people will pay it since it`s for charity! It is frequently poor people who shop in charity shops, and therefore it is appalling that managers of these shops should rip them off in attempt to reach their targets, so that they get their bonuses etc. Such greed will only serve to put the public off from handing goods in, and buying the extortionate (often rags) on their rails!

Very expensive prices for washed out and out of date clothing which frequently have dirty marks and holes in them. When I`ve pointed the latter out to the staff, they have been disinterested and hung the garments back on the rail without marking that they are damaged. A total disgrace and disrespect to the public whom they are taking advantage of!Most of us know someone who has had, or has died of cancer, and would dearly like to help this charity. However, when the manager and staff in this shop are showing such contempt for the public, they put people off from handing goods in and from buying the overpriced and frequently substandard items in the shop!

Far too expensive, esp considering the amount of reasonably priced charity shops in the local vicinity.Have a browse if you want to see how the other half live.

What an excellent well run and well stocked shop. BRILLIANT staff and volunteers , helpful, friendly and attentive. Plenty quality items at fair reasonable prices and always bargains to be found . If Carlsberg did CHARITY shops then ...... . Please feel free to bring you QUALITY unwanted items to the shop for upcycling , to be reused, reloved by someone else ! Please also feel free to drop in , make a donation or buy some goodies! ALL above helping this most worthwhile of Charities - Cancer Research UK . Well done everyone and keep up the GREAT work.
