Visiting your optometrist is not only important for an eye prescription the latest trends in glassware but more importantly for your overall health. My very talented optometrist Alexandra Young noticed bruising of my top eye lid and suggested I should get my thyroid tested as it could be causing a clotting issue. Like most people I heard her loud and clear but I had no symptoms so why would I want to waste my time trying to get a GP appointment. Until I became very ill at the weekend and had to attend A&E for severe abdominal pain. Today was diagnosed with an under active thyroid if I had only listened to Alexandra at the time I could have started my treatment sooner and not became very unwell. Please get your routine annually eye checks done they may not only save your eye sight but your life. Thanks Alexandra from now on I will listen to you.

My GP recommended I call an optometrist to get an eye exam and Cameron Optometry wouldn't see me or book an appointment since I wasn't already a patient.To become a patient they requested records which don't exist as I have never needed eye care in the past.When I explained this they essentially said there's no way for me to become a patient. No reason was given. My 1 star review reflects the incredibly poor and rude service I received on the phone.

I was in for a contact lens / glasses / eye health exam today. I couldn't give a more glowing review about the quality service, advice, how personal and thorough Ian was. I can't fault anything at all, including all the staff I did my initial eye retinal scan etc.

Huge thank you to the team at Cameron Optometry. I was dispensed with Seiko Smart Zoom lenses to help me with close work/computer/mobile phone - and they are excellent! No more squinting at the screen or headaches.....excellent lenses, beautiful frame and great staff - would highly recommend.

We are visiting Scotland and needed to get my daughters eyes checked for her unique glasses prescription. Everyone treated us like we were regulars and locals, they were kind and helpful and considerate. Alexandra was amazing with my 12 year old and spoke to her and made sure she understood everything and was so kind and happy! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

I was visiting Edinburgh from the United States and got a foreign body in my cornea (possibly from debris in the wind). They were able to get me in for an appointment within the hour of calling, removed the foreign body with a needle, gave me a prescription for eye drops and instructed me to follow up when I got home, which I did and am doing much better. Thank you for saving my eye and for being so kind!

i had a stubborn eyelid infection that persisted for over a year through lockdown. Specsavers failed to detect the problem and went ahead with a retail remedy in spite of my discomfort.When I met Ian Cameron it was apparent that I was being treated with a level of concern and professionalism that made a mockery of the high street competitors.After a few appointments and medications my eye began to improve but Ian wanted to rule out anything sinister so insisted on one more check up appointment. I paid £60 to resolve this problem. I would recommended Cameron Optometry to anyone who feels that they are dissatisfied with a corporate 'one-size-fits-all methodology.

Visited a couple of weeks ago with my 8 year old and 4 year old. Was really struck by the friendliness of the staff the minute we walked in - really made us all, kids included, feel welcome. The appointment itself was also carried out in a very child-friendly way. Seems to be a company that really cares about people, which you don't always get nowadays sadly

Extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to put you at ease.Most comfortable waiting room I've ever been in, and the staff were kind enough to offer me a coffee, which was a nice touch.I've got a couple of very stylish frames from them, and will be coming back for more!

I've been going to Cameron Optometry for years now and have always enjoyed my appointments. Ian is a great optometrist and it's always a pleasurable experience....even though he is inspecting my eyes!Highly recommended
