Very dirty, toilets leaking, liquid soap bag hanging from its box, dust everywhere, simply unkept, unloved, uninviting. Used to be one of my favourite places but too dirty now.

Exceptionally poor service. My son and I arrived at 4.30pm for Christmas Eve drinks aware of the 5pm closing time.We were served by an extremely rude member of staff who gave no eye contact and told us that the drinks would be served in takeaway cups. It was evident that she had no interest in her customers and was simply fixitated on closing the premises.We were not the only customers. Although unhappy with her rude manner, I chose to give her the benefit of the doubt and put it down to perhaps a long shift and it being Christmas Eve.However that changed when I witnessed her dreadful treatment of other customers as they arrived. I was horrified at her rude manner.Two men arrived to join their friend who was a Cafe Nero customer already seated. As they walked in and went to join him, this member of staff literally verbally attacked one of the men because he had a takeaway cup in hand from another cafe.Neither men attempted to sit down. They simply popped in to talk to their friend. The member of staff was completely out of line and aggressive in her manner. All three men left.At this point, I could not sit for another moment and witness her demeanour any further. She was evidently agitated and wanted to be anywhere but where she was.I approached her and explained how unacceptable I thought her behaviour was towards that customer. She said that she was sorry but missed the point completely as she continued to back track. I highlighted how poorly her prior service had been to us. She continued to talk but did not listen.This is the longest review that I have ever written but felt compelled to do so as the service was abysmal.If this woman is the current manager then she is in the wrong line of work. She has failed at the first hurdle of basic common courtesy.Dreadful service!

We went to a different Cafe and gotten pastries but it was raining so we wanted a place to sit and get a drink. We carried in the bag, not trying to hide it and the staff didn't say a thing. I ordered my hot chocolate for sit in. It was 9 in the morning and the place was completely empty except one man. We sat and ate our pastry and I drank my drink. One staff saw us multiple times and said nothing, then after 30 minutes (pastry now gone), the manager came over and without greeting us, put her hand on the bag from the bakery and said forcefully "this is not okay!" She went on to tell us that we were extremely rude for bring it in and I told her that a staff the month before had said it was okay if I ate my pastry. She then replied "thats bullsh!t" and continued to go off on us. I had not finished my drink but she made us leave.Worst manager experience ever.

I'm not one to usually write a complain about a member of staff as I've also worked in hospitality, but I just thought I'd highlight my experience in Caffe Nero Stockbridge, Edinburgh.A lady (with dark hair and patterned leggings) who I'm assuming is the manager served me and immediately the customer service was sub-par as I wanted to pay using my free voucher from points and I was told that none of the scanners were working, so I paid by card. This is fine, but it all went downhill when the same staff asked me to leave a few minutes later for having a pastry from another place on the table (which I was not eating, by the way!), insisting that it's rude to have it there for all other customers to see. I understand if I was consuming it, but it literally sat on the table, untouched, and she took my tray (with my coffee which I paid for) and said that I was leaving. I was stunned.I realise that there are a lot more important things going on in the world right now, but please re-train your staff to have better customer service than this. A shame as well, since this is my local Nero, and after that experience, I don't think I will be back.Not the cleanest branch as well - the tables were dirty, and plenty of used crockery and trays were on unused tables, so customers have to move these themselves.

Good location, but a very run-down place. The toilet was broken.Would benefit from refurbishment and good deep cleaning.Visited the place a lot because of the location, but never seen it clean, not even once.

I can't comment on the shop itself however we had a big mess up in our Uber delivery today - absolutely mistakes happen, I manage bars I understand this more than most.The first girl admitted to making the drinks cold rather than the specified hot drinks - cool thanks for owning up. Then the horrificly rude manageress comes on the phone and is nothing but rude and stating "my girl wouldn't make this mistake" - (we now all know she has and she did apologise) so really the manageress isn't backing anyone up anymore and still continues to badger on about how they can't be of any help and then hangs up the phone.Honestly- if I were your boss I would absolutely have let you go by now from reading these other reviews about you and then hearing you first hand.Get out of hospo if you ain't enjoying it.

I just stopped off for a coffee and ended up having a sandwich as well.I?ll always stop at a Caffè Nero if I can as I like their coffee.It?s funny though, at a lot of their sites there?s a bit of a lack of maintenance especially in the toilets. It was the case here. The floors were dirty as was the toilet. The sink as well.Still, the service was good for me and the coffee was great.

Lady who I think was the manager, wearing black T-shirt with dark curly hair, needs re-training.A clearly blind lady with a guide dog was ordering at the counter and the employee kept saying things like ?that?s £10, card machine is over there?, leaving the lady to fumble around the counter trying to feel with her hands where the machine was. After witnessing this, the employee then continued to say things like ?press the green button?, ?you need to put your pin in, not yet, wait until the screen changes?.It was like she just had no idea how to be gentle and patient with someone who has lost their sight. Really unbelievable.

I were going to meet my girlfriend there as my friends told me it?s nice but at last she was asked to leave by a rough staff( should be the manager). The story is she came and decide to go to toilet first. However, the toilet is occupied so he just had a seat. Suddenly, a female staff impolitely asked her to leave and said if you want to go to toilet you had to consume! What a ?good? customer service! We will not come again and absolutely not recommend!

I went to have a cup of coffee while waiting for a friend. The coffee was not bad, but not incredible either. However this was not the reason for the rating.The coffee shop was very dirty and dusty. The table I sat at had food crumbs from a cake I believe, on the table and the floor, dust on the chairs and there was this "toilet" smell in the air. I sat by the window, the opposite end to the toilet (can't imagine what the people next to the loo smelled). The atmosphere is ok, the music is nice. It is pretty quiet too. Too bad about the smell and the mess all around.

Really not great service. I stood at the counter for ages waiting for someone to take my order or indeed just to look at me. It wasn't busy. One member of staff was making coffees but the other decided to go and bus tables rather than serve (or look at) me. Made me feel pretty rubbish, can't lie. I left and went to Starbucks up the road instead.
