Please be aware this hotel is very dirty. I was bitten by an insect in the bed, when I looked under the bed there was litter, dust, even a cheese still in its wax wrapper so room is obviously never deep cleaned. Linen and towels seemed clean enough and bathroom was acceptably clean with good hot water. Hotel is extremely dated - that?s not a problem but cleanness is expected. The staff here are friendly and helpful. The issues with this hotel come from the owners / management.Rooms: Dirty, very thin walls between adjoining bedroomsSafety: Corridors dark, motion activated lights. Looks like it would be a bit of a maze to escape from in an emergencyFood & drinks: Acceptable breakfast. Good coffee bar at the end of the street

All staff were extremely helpful and kind! Very comfortable beds, quiet, but can?t express how nice the staff were! Made the whole experience homely and professional at the same time, we came from London to stay 4 days so thank you for the unforgettable stay!

This hotel for me is not great, had booked with a wowcher deal and it was for an overnight stay and afternoon Tea, informed them of me being gluten intolerant back in November, when booking in they had no record of it so my afternoon tea consisted of 3 finger sandwiches on gluten free bread, next to no filling in them and nothing else, I was a little perturbed to say the least, no cutlery or plates were given or napkins for my sisters, the bedrooms were clean and tidy but needing much upgrading along with the rest of the hotel.Rooms: Clean but in need of much upgrading,Nearby activities: Shopping and pubs are about a 10 to 15 minutes walk from the hotelWalkability: Lots to see if you are walking around, some of the roads are quite steep.Food & drinks: Food in the hotel for breakfast was good. Plenty of choice. I do not recommend anyone who is coeliac to go there as they would not be able to eat there.

Modest, little bit old dated.I think it was some sort of waterdamage in the bathroom, smells weird and showerdrain didnt pull water so you stand in your showerwater up to your ankles. No shelf for shampoo in showerarea.Staff was super super helpful and nice, all thought i wish they had inform me about breakfast in first morning; that you can ORDER warm breakfast in the kitchen, like scrambled eggs and Salmon and toast.Continental breakfast was only yoghurt+cerials/mysli, sweet pastrys, toast, apples, marmelade, tea and coffee +juices.WiFi was out of order one hole day, so no Netflix connection and only 1 channel shows properly in TV.Didnt know how to get radiator to warm up, some cold air was coming to room by sides of window.Warm blanket and good pillows?

The location was perfect to get to Edinburugh Castle and all the main royal mile shops and easy to see further down onto Princess street where the street party for new year was, plus the Jonny Walker experience.Walkability: Easy location to main town and the Castle

Good price for where staying. Not too far to walk into main town.

We rented a room for one night with breakfast on our arrival in Edinburgh we had a problem with the door to our room it did not lock anyone could get in we reported it to reception but not other rooms available and no one to repair the door before the next day so we had to make do with it, it's a shame not even a commercial gesture... and as a bonus the paint on the ceiling of the bathroom is peeling and we smell the slats of the box spring through the mattress hotel not necessarily recommended but the price of the night was correct so good?Rooms: Poor mattress and peeling bathroom ceiling paint

Don't stay at this hotel! WE WERE ROBBED!! They stole our backpack and didn't take responsibility or even show much interest in helping! We were left without documents, cards, passport and completely desperate not knowing how we were going to get back to our country. They said they would check the security cameras and nothing.Safety: WE WERE ROBBED INSIDE THE HOTEL!
