“This is a great place to shop for any music or movie fan they have such a wide selection. The only thing that's missing is the games they do sell them online, but selling them in store would make for a better experience”

“OK, so buying a gift for mother in law who likes painting. Customer service agent Morgan asked if I needed help. I told him what she liked to paint and got the best gifts ever! Fantastic service, I'm really impressed with the result.”
“I've been volunteering for the BHF on Portobello High Street for a number of years now. It's a great place to work for all kinds of reasons! There's a great team of management and volunteers, so we all feel well looked after and appreciated. It's also fascinating to see how the shop runs, both on the shop floor and behind the scenes.I help stock the book shelves, and I just love being surrounded by such an interesting and diverse range of writing, from the latest bestsellers to collectibles from my childhood! And it's great getting to help customers choose their next read. All in all, I would really recommend volunteering here. It helped me get through a tough time in my life so I can honestly say that it has done my heart good!”

“I had the pleasure of dropping in to this lovely Oxfam shop this past week when I was on a flying return visit to Edinburgh.I needed to find a place where I could donate many boxes of much loved books and DVDs that I had collected over my 25 years in Edinburgh and the staff here were so welcoming, friendly and helpful.I am particularly grateful to them for their kind assistance during what proved to be a very hard week of shifting so many heavy boxes, wanting my belongings to go to good homes and benefit Oxfam. They are lovely people there doing good, and the shop is charming, with a great selection of lovely things to own or buy as gifts. I can recommend them wholeheartedly.”

“Pleased it's remained open this long as we need bookshops.
Not the most exciting vibe of shop but good for greetings cards, magazines and discounted files and stationery.
The thing I especially noticed was they stock a selection of OS maps which is handy.”

“Really good shop, I never walk out of this place without finding something to buy. The prices are really reasonable, and there's a lot of space given over to each department. It feels spacious and easy to shop and move around in. Lovely staff, too!”

“I had a phone to send back to Google and I was unsure how to package it safely and securely, but I didn't need to have worried as Lewis was absolutely fantastic - he helped me cover it in Bubble wrap and then put into a bigger box and then taped it all up too.
I have to say that for such a young man he had a super attitude and knowledge.”
“I’d like to say how courteous and pleasant your staff member was at this store, when I visited on 19th April. He was well presented, patient and took time to make conversation. What a difference that makes. Please give the guy a pat on the back for his level of service. Thanks!”
“I just popped into buy a nice pair of shoes and a lovely pair of cord like material jeans great value. I was sat in the corner trying on the shoes when two men walked in who were clearly there to steal and the way the manger dealt with them and kept her cool but stern voice was what really impressed me and as I walked out a young Asian lady said goodbye with a lovely smile and kinda made me feel embarrassed ? by these Scottish people's behaviour as she was clearly there to begin volunteering and would just like to apologise on these young people's behaviour. What's going in today's society they feel it acceptable to go steal from a charity shop the three lady's really impressed me on how they handled the situation. Thank you, 10 out 10 the customer service.”

“Came in to look for some dice and the man who was working on the tills helped us find them quickly. I forgot my loyalty card and he told me how to claim my points still. He also directed me, my aunt and my brother to Edinburgh castle. He was very friendly, happy and just a pleasure to be around. This was around 11am. Thank you so much!”

“Thanks to the cashier at the Waverley Station branch (sorry I didn't get her name) who saved my day yesterday (Saturday 4th June) when she gave me brilliant advice on how to fix my broken espadrille.I came into the shop looking for an emergencysupply of super glue, en route to a friend's wedding, and she directed me to buy nail glue from the Boots branch opposite. Ingenious fix as it turned out! My shoe (and its emergency repair) made it through the day. Yeah!”

“Here, the advantages of having a charity shop located in the city centres are evident in abundance. Recent book releases, the odd tempting album even old football kits are there thanks to the more affluent donators. As with most charity shops, bargains are there to be found and this one is no different. What makes this one stand out is its healthy selection of retro games. I managed to find a couple of decent Gamecube gems amongst others. Worth a look.”

“One of my favorite charity shops in Edinburgh. Anna, the manager, is such a nice woman who goes out of her way to be helpful and friendly with a cheery word for every customer. On my visit yesterday, I was trying to decide which backpack to choose for an upcoming trip when an extremely rude man snatched one of the bags from me and said I'd had long enough to decide and he was going to buy it. I tried to reason with him but he was having none of it. I called out to Anna for help and she handled the situation admirably with tact and diplomacy. In the end, the man threw the bag back at me and stomped out. All in all, an extremely well-managed store busting at the seams with great quality, reasonably priced stuff. I'd highly recommend a visit!”

“A very good collection of books there is a cafe inside and lounging areas to read very quiet and good atmosphere for us bibliophiles. Polite and informative staff.”
