I have been unemployed for a year now after losing my job, having a nervous breakdown and being treated for anxiety and depression. Today I received a text saying to put funds in as I was over my overdraft limit. I managed to rustle up £9 in silver change and when I tried to deposit it, the lady with dark hair and glasses, was very short with me and refused to put the change in as it was too small for her to count when she could serve someone else. I took the bags she gave me and separated the silver, meanwhile she had no one to serve. I went to the other lady who happily took the money and lodged the funds. I spent 15 mins outside shaking before I could get my nerves together to go home. If I had another branch to go to I would.

Over 15 people to serve with more than 5 staff only two tills open. Made to wait over 20 minutes. Not very friendly at times either.

Staff insufferably inflexible towards customers.

No warmth, no kindness, unwillingness to help, it's a struggle to go there and be treated so badly. Such an hostile staff...I'm amazed how badly they represent the bank. You go to the gyle shopping centre branch and it's a totally different atmosphere. Every single time I go there I have a bad experience. I don't feel valued as a customer...

They refused to serve my 12 year old daughter because she didn't "have an account", she took in a load of coins she had saved up, she wanted to change all her coins into a £10 note so she could proudly present it to them to open her first savings account, the cashier was rude but then the manager actually made her cry. I would recommend you go to ANY other bank and avoid this hostile environment.

If I could put none star's i would, i was with this bank for many years but in 2014 my world came crumbling down as my father suddenly passed away! In the process of getting my dad's belongings back from the police there was a plastic bag with around £200 in it but it was covered in blood and stuff, the police officer told me to take the bag with the notes and a letter from the police to my local bank and that they would take it off me and send it away to get cleaned and exchange the £200 for cleaner notes as I'd found my father dead i didn't want to wash his blood of money, i arrived at my branch earlier than expected for my appointment with my sin to be told in a horrible manner that she would not be willing to help me or send the money off as it was a bio hazard but the police officers had put the cash in a well sealed bag for situations like that with their numbers & case no and a contact number for the bank to call, as I sat there in tears in her office with my son she looked down at me in horror then got another college to come in and told me there weren't going to help me and that there was no way they we're dealing with it i asked if any of there other branches could help as the money was going towards the funeral cost, she said in a voice I'll never forget that she was not going to give me anymore help or advice and that I'd be best washing it myself as i sat there crying at the fact I'd just lost my da90d she just looked at me with sum kind of discussed on her face, i just want to get out of that office with my 10 yr old son, after i dealt with my father's funeral at Christmas I closed my account with them and moved to another bank that are more caring and help there customers!!!
It was disgusting the way she treated me and I'll never forget that,
