Very good location, 8 minutes walk from the castle and 2 minutes from the famous Victoria Street. Many bars and restaurants nearby. Very good services. Neat housekeeping.

Our second stay at the Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel after a lovely stay here 12 mnths ago , superb location, lovely hotel, one of the best quality breakfasts we've had at any hotel 2 years running, nice to see the quality of ingredients has remained, lovely staff throughout hotel, inc restaurant, reception, cleaners, even workmen there were a credit to the Hotel & Edinburgh city, staff make the difference. Special thank you to Estel on reception for making our stay even better. We will return. Keep the standards high.

Receptionist is not well trained, they will not let you explain yourself and will talk over you. Very disappointing experience. Very bad costumer service.

Stayed at this Hotel located right in the City Centre of Edinburgh for a short break.The Hotel is very very nice.It's only a 10-15 minute walk from Edinburgh Castle which is well worth visiting.Highly recommended ??Rooms: Hotel rooms are very nice with own bathroom (includes bath & seperate shower) & TV in bedroom.Breakfast is a little expensive for a small portion.

This hotel is fantastic! It is conveniently located by the Green Market and by all the local attractions. The rooms/common areas are clean, the staff is kind and welcoming, and the castle views are stunning! We had been placed in the wrong room, but when we talked to the staff and they kindly fixed their mistake and the manager put us in the right room. They were patient and helpful! We couldn't have chosen a better hotel for our unforgettable Edinburgh trip. We will be back!

I really would love to give this more stars, but the vents in the room cannot be switched off and are very noisy - so much so that they affected our sleep. The staff were excellent and did their best to help but weren't able to stop the noise. Given the quality of their customer service I would not be put off trying Apex again in the future.Walkability: Close to Royal Mile and main attractions

I?d give 3.5 stars. Great location at the bottom of Victoria street. Just know you?ll need to walk uphill to do most things. Our bed was hard and uncomfortable. The family room was small with a queen bed and pull out sofa. Carpet wrinkled. The staff was nice. The breakfast was

The worst stay in the UK in years. Not only was there no gym that?s advertised but we had zero direction or assistance from hotel staff. No heads up on the restaurant hours, nor is it posted. Couldn?t get in because no one was sitting at the desk in the middle of the night (nor did anyone say hey only one door works and you have to be let in - maybe someone should be doing their job), same thing to leave - couldn?t leave for 10 min because no one was doing their job. Was told I was upgraded, but was downgraded. They say there?s no request too big - apparently an adapter or charger was too much so went a day not being able to communicate or pay for anything because of their inflexibility. Got an attitude for asking for a taxi at 4am so I could charge my phone since no one was able to assist. Twice, not once TWICE had my privacy violated because housekeeping doesn?t know how to knock. Will never recommend this place - dingy, dirty, and disrespectful.Rooms: Not worth it.Food & drinks: Not worth it.

Great experience at this Apex hotel. We loved the location (right in the heart of the Old Town) we walked everywhere. Service was great and our rooms were well sized, we had 3 rooms and 2 of them had large sofas inside which was great.It is a very good hotel and the price was good too (we got a Black Friday deal)People at the reception are very nice and dedicated. No complaints at all.Tip: you can borrow adapters from the reception!

Awful. £200 a night and they cba to fix the heating in our cold room yesterday but instead left the window open instead ffs. And today they decide we don?t need towels. And that?s before I mention the poor service at breakfast. Never staying here again!

Really pleasant reception and dining staff.Good breakfast (additional cost, but par for course).Didn't realise sister hotels gym/pool was an option which was a shame but we hadn't brought swimming clothing.
