Nice room, good staff, food really poor and all the cooked food was cold, been on display too long but was also really bland. Shame.

Don?t be put off by the poor reviews. We loved this place! The staff could not have been more friendly, attentive and helpful. The ambiance was great and the food lovely. Wine a bit on the expensive side, but that?s all. The outdoor area looks lovely, so we?ll definitely be back in the Summer.

Lovely decor, nice music. Service no issues Food and price let this Venue down massively. It was £17 quid for a breakfast and it was tiny and not that good. Just a sausage Pattie, couple pieces of bacon and fried egg and nothing else. No bread, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes nothing Coffee was also average. It needs to step up its food game to go with the decor

Could be so great, but its not! Positives. Superb setting, beautiful bar, quirky wall art. Beautiful outside area view. The not so great. Staff seemed inexperienced, slow service, food average, food that should be warm was freezing. Room very cold. Hsd to ask staff to close outside door. Wed all put our jackets and scarfs on! Tsble next to us wsited half an hour just to order drinks. Service charge was 35, which we didn?t pay! Wont be back. Edinburgh has much better to offer.

They say service at the table but nobody actually bothers to come, we stayed from 7:30pm to 00:30, they came 3 times only. I went to the bar cause nobody was showing up to take orders and ask for a Negroni and if it was possible to be send to my table. The bartender (a short blonde girl) was highly rude, more interested to look at the band playing. She rudely said it was only table service and even though I apologised for the inconvenience she was still rude with me and overpriced my drink for no reason from 12 pounds to 13.50 pounds. These kind of people don't deserve to work in hospitality. Only good point was the band, very enthusiastic and good performers. One of them it's a dear friend of mine. The rest was overpriced and not worth it.

Sad to say we didn?t even get to go! I had book brunch at Eve for a surprise for our wedding anniversary. I had head a lot of good things. Booked the table in August. Gets to the Friday before we head to Edinburgh (we are booked for the Sunday) and I have an email from Eve saying they now have a private booking and have to cancel our booking. 2 days notice. Now all the nice places are fully booked. Very disappointed. Such poor customer service.

We visited on the 18 Aug. We got our time wrong however they were so nice about it and fitted us in. Firstly the decor was very nice. The server came to see us and offered water for the table which we duly excepted. Then drinks menu arrived. My wife likes her cocktails and asked the lad for something different. He recommended I think xoxo. Anyway she thought it was delicious. 15-20 minutes for our food to come. By word it looked good. I had the rump, wife had the brisket, big chips and olives too. Along with another drink. This was delicious as well. Because of that we decided to have a pudding and we both chose Eaton Mess. When it came it was a small portion but that to was delicious. My only gripe was when the bill came there was a service charge of 10% so we decided not to leave a tip. Would I choose this restaurant again - almost certainly will as it was fantastic.

Very good food; nice service; portion size was also good. Indoor and outdoor seating is possible. Good atmosphere for families, too.

The wife booked it for us without me really knowing what i was in for. Busy, but not overly so. I ended up jealous of my partner's pancakes, i'll order that next time. When we came in a dj was playing actual vinyls, and then a harpist suddenly started performing. Felt pretty happening and a little bit swanky. I'd go back for sure.

I visited Eve yesterday with some friends for a late lunch. The food was good - we had a selection of the small plates to share (the black garlic aioli served with the fries was superb, and the Ras el Hanout Roasted Broccoli was delicious, as was the Sweet Potato Hummus - but the the cheeseboard was lacking somewhat - could have done with a bit more cheese and a few more oatcakes). The cocktails/drinks were excellent - do try their Paloma (tequila, lime juice, and grapefruit soda). The Eve Pilsner Lager was also very good. We liked the atmosphere - it felt quite cool and there was a mixed crowd (locals and tourists). The background music was perfect and the live band who started just before we left sounded great. We wanted to give a huge shout out to our server Harvey who was brilliant - friendly, professional, attentive and knowledgeable. He is an absolute asset to your establishment. Thanks for a lovely visit. We'll be back.

Visited on Tuesday for drinks Reasonably priced and lovely place However there was a severe lack of staff with no one on the front bar most of the time. Had to keep trying to track down someone when wanted served. Female member of staff from Glasgow helping out was apologetic and lovely. Probably won't go back.

After spending a small fortune for not-so- great breakfasts along the Royal Mile we came across this place. The menu is varied and the prices are reasonable. Worth noting that anything along the Royal Mile will be expensive this place does provide value for money. The food is freshly cooked and very tasty. The portions are excellent and the staff are very friendly. Definitely one to check out.

Very expensive . Very smalltalk Portion. You order salmon , what you get is mashed potato and salad . A tiny portion of fish. Not recommended ?

Dropped in with colleagues for lunch, the place is stunning well decorated, and the finishing touches are great. That's where the positives end. Lunch was very disjointed, nobody seemed to be incharge and the waiter that was looking after us gave the impression that he was untrained, didn't have great menu knowledge, and was over familiar with our group. We asked for a few minutes with the menu but we're continually asked if we were ready to order. When we did order the food 6 small plates took nearly 35 mins to arrive and was average. We had to ask 4 times for the bill only when we stood up to leave did anybody take note. Really disappointed was looking forward to trying Eve, maybe it was an off day
