My best friend and I got the tasting menu and were totally blissed out. Chef Calum Montgomery is so incredibly talented, creating dishes that speak to memories and soul experiences through food. Inventive, moving and inspiring-I recommend the tasting menu. That scallop will follow me for the rest of my life. Every dish was executed well, showing the thought that went into each one. I really can?t wait to come back!

This was a delicious and unique tasting menu for us out-of-towners. It truly was ?A taste of Skye.? We enjoyed the diversity and freshness of each dish, and at the end we were fully satiated. We also really appreciated that they source local ingredients, and tell you where everything is from. It was also a very clean and comfortable environment inside the restaurant, not uptight or stuffy. Chef was kind and great to meet. We are very happy we made this reservation!

I went for the tasting menu which costs £150, and as with anything the expectation is you get what you paid for.
At this price I expect every dish to be fresh and great tasting. For the most part the dishes were. I particularly enjoyed the bread.
Unfortunately where it felt short was in the highland/wagyu beef, 2 of our servings were chewy and one even had gristle. Should I expect the serving staff to ask if I enjoyed the signature dishes? I think so, but they didn't so I let them know as I was paying the bill.
The response was quite average, which again may be acceptable and a lower price point but not this one.

11-course tasting menu
@Edinbane Lodge
-5 canapes quite good
seaweed crackers, beef tartar with charcoal, brie and brioche good
oysters with cucumber, apple and rise ok not our favourite..prefer simple raw oysters, cured halibut non descript
scallop excellent- huge and very well charred and perfect texture
lobster was good, chunky lobster pieces, too pretty to eat, too processed and fine (for fine sake?)?would much prefer normal grilled lobster with good sauces.
highland wagyu very good.
brie and falasgair good.
dessert was excellent.
service by every server was superb, professional & friendly.
a friend couldn?t take lobster. the server went about arranging for the last minute request. & serve a very good belly pork.?
all dishes good standard. servings quite small.
In our views, quality and quantity of ingredients a bit meagre for the £150price.

We had the 3 course menu. Food was amazing and staff lovely, but for that price you don?t expect to leave hungry. The portions are tiny.

Restaurant Review
We opted for the 3c set menu and have to say we were really disappointed. The decor is nice but we got placed opposite the kitchen exit and the whole room felt a bit ?cold?. The meal was disappointing vs. The expectation from a fine dining restaurant. Every course just tasted of butter, salt and cream covering all the flavours and tastes. The experience felt just underwhelming and definitely overpriced. Service was fine but no waiter asked how the food was or was engaging; they served the dishes, described them and left. So did we after a dear bill.

A delightful three-course dinner at restaurant: charming atmosphere, delicious meal, and beautifully presented dishes.

The service and decor is excellent. I appreciate the locally sourced food and the 3 course meal we ordered was delicious. However the portions (especially the mains) were incredibly small. For the price of over £100 each, it?s unacceptable to be leaving hungry.

4 star review simply because I was not informed the restaurant would be closed on a Saturday night. It was a major influence in my reservation and to be told on arrival it was closed was a bit of a blow. The room itself was excellent and the service was great too. The breakfast was not the best if im being honest. Sausage was burnt. Little things you don't expect to happen in a place of such grandeur.

What a special place. We stayed two nights and had dinner on the first evening. The meal was inventive at every step, highlighting unique elements of Scottish cuisine imaginatively crafted with ingredients of local provenance. I still think about the scallop. The Falasgair stands out, a smoky dessert inspired by the local practice of burning heather. Also, breakfast was lovely.

We spent a few days on the Isle of Sky and couldn't have found a better place to stay. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff, clean, stylish and quiet rooms overlooking a small creek, great breakfast, good drink menu, and a multi-course dinner. Check out the pottery store nearby or the pub just a short walk down the road. What a great experience.

Nice place but very overpriced for what it is.

One of the best tasting menus I?ve ever experienced. I cried at the heather fire dessert. The story of each dish, their connection to place, and the sensory experience that follows is incredibly moving. Of the fine dining options on Skye, this was by far our favorite. I?m so glad we listened to a local and were able to snag a reservation while we were visiting. We can?t stop talking about it, and we can?t wait to come back. Also each and every staff member was so friendly and wonderful to chat with. Their love for Skye?the place, the culture, the emotions it evokes?is palpable and infuses the experience with a certain something you won?t find elsewhere. Make this your number one must eat while in town.
