The coffee is the only deal breaker. Reading this fantastic menu and it wraps up with Teamed up with Nespresso. I heard the sound of Pac-Man being eaten in the video game?. I understand the need for repeatable coffee, but pod coffee to me is unacceptable if you are striving to be the best at something. Too many fantastic local roasters and choice beans toChoose from. So the challenge is, getting staff trained on how to properly extract it.Do it?.Everything else is lovely! Excellent staff, fun small bites dinner with a great wine pairing. What all the rest of the reviews say. Room was great.Breakfast seating area needs work. Super not cozy. But thats just getting picky. They are trying! ?

Absolutely one of the singularly best restaurant dinners of our lives. Impossible to overstate this gem. The chef, an Isle of Skye native is a young culinary genius!

For the restaurant only.Had the tasting menu for dinner. Every main dish was so perfect. The missing one star is for the desserts. The flavors for all 3 desserts are quite weird. Also, it would be better if the crackers can be less oily. And it would be nice if not followed with fried oysters, as both are fried, and can be too oily.

Restaurant Only: We didn't stay at the lodge.#TLDR: The best dining experience I've had anywhere.A week later, my wife and I are still talking about it. We even ate at a AA 3-Rosette restaurant with a similar tasting menu the following evening. Everything they prepared for us was excellent, but none of it as good as what we had at Edinbane Lodge. That's all I'll say about the other place. I just want to emphasize how perfectly presented everything we had from them was.Edinbane's menu told a single story. Everything we ate that night was obtained locally; most within just a few miles and some from the grounds of the lodge. The food was "simple" in that none of the offerings contained more than a handful of ingredients, but those ingredients were used to perfection. Our menu had 2 mains: Monkfish and Lamb.1) A well-prepared piece of lamb is delicious. This was incredible. Served 2 ways - one was a shoulder in a pastry basket (please forgive me, I am not a gourmet). The flavor from that was explosive. It is the only way I can describe it. Imagine food fireworks going off in your mouth and you're getting close.2) Monkfish is a mild, whitefish. One bite told me I was eating the best monkfish I would ever have. I couldn't help but imagine the chef obsessing over every piece individually. I don't know for sure that's what was happening, but I don't know how else you make everything this perfect.I could write pages about our experience, but no one would want to read that much that hadn't already been. One last example of simple made perfection:Celery sorbet. You read that right. It wasn't a bad autocorrect. Words won't do it justice. Imaging what those 2 words put together would taste like would at best be a disappointment. It was bright and clean. It was wonderful and was presented with their interpretation of "cheese and crackers." This is such an inadequate reduction of what was sitting on that plate that I expect the authorities to show up at my door as soon as I hit "post."If you have any opportunity to visit this place before their wait list extends into the next decade, you owe it to yourself to go. It is not cheap, but it is underpriced for what you get. We will go back any time we're able.Thank you!Food & drinks: My review was solely about the food. I'm sure the lodge is very nice.

Simply put, this is a Michelin level restaurant for good reason. It doesn't get much better than this for an exquisite and first class event. Location is beautiful, service excellent and the food of the tasting menu, amazing!Make your reservations as early as possible, the place fills up very quickly.

One of the wonderful things about Scotland is their food. Everywhere, from brunch to a quick afternoon cafe to full on dinner, the average quality of what you taste is quite high. Now imagine a place aiming even higher: that's Edinbane Lodge. Their focus and imagination around local produce and flavours pay off -- the main fish course that evening was simply wonderful, as was everything else all the way to petit fours. There is a quiet elegance to this place, at once simple and sophisticated, with a genuinely warm service. Absolutely deserving their top spot on the island as well as their Michelin recognition.

Relaxed five star dining. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Before our visit, Katie called us to check if we had any allergies/dietary requirements. A special menu menu was prepared for me as a result of my dietary requirements. This was no hassle whatsoever to the restaurant. The staff were all lovely and the food absolutely fantastic. The beef was one of the nicest dishes I have ever tasted. The way the beef has been cooked was incredible (crisp on the edges and Smokey - although I made the cardinal sin of asking for my beef medium to well). In fact, I would say this particular dish was nicer than any of the dishes currently being served at Andrew Fairlie?s restaurant (i.e a high bar). The dress code is very mixed. Some people were dressed formally whilst others in trainers/jeans but most people were smart casual.

Simply the best meal we have ever eaten, the quality and the taste was outstanding, as was the exemplary service, we have eaten here before but this meal surpassed the first visit by far, and the first visit was good as well!! As it is a tasting menu we will have to wait for a menu change to visit again!

Best meal we have had in years. So many flavours, beautifully paired with the wines suggested. A big spend but well worth it. A very special evening. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, staff excellent.
