Having been a customer of the Bank of Scotland for more years than I care to remember, I feel compelled to write a brief review of this Branch and also the BOS in general.
I?d say it was when the Bank merged with the Halifax that it began to go all wrong. Previously Staff were Professional, warm and friendly to all their customers, no matter which branch I entered.
Now, when you go in, you?re made to feel unwanted and almost an irritation. I?ve been using the EK branch now for 6 + years, and in all this time, only on one occasion did I encounter a staff member who received pass marks for their service. I know this is not the case (I think) but if feels like this Branch is where they deposit their troublesome staff. They?re awful! How the Bank has fallen?.dreadful place now.

Some of the staff just seem to want to fob you off and tell you to do things online/on the app instead of helping in branch. Total waste of space.

I have been to East Kilbride branch 5 times already to open a bank account,as a completion step for the online process . Each time they come up with something missing. Eventhough on the app it's just the ID , but no ,in the branch they have their own roles . I should have known when I came the first time and saw the same thing happened to someone who was in front of me on the Que.

Shocking customer service!
I lost my yellow parking coin on the day it is free to park for a few hours (Saturday)!
I drove to the exit before realising I had lost it.
Person on the tannoy took great pride in telling me nothing he can do and go look for it!
I had 2 children crying in the back as the man explained nothing he can do. He said someone would come to help. Young nervous lady came and explained nothing she can do. I worked in the centre for years and I KNEW about a £10 lost token fee and volunteered to pay it. She then disappeared after taken my money (no explaination why she left?) but didn't let me know it would take another 10 minutes of sitting at the exit before returning. By the time she had returned I decided I'll be quicker going to look for my original free token when she returned. I said if I find it can I get a refund and she said no refunds on lost tokens!! The young lady and man did their jobs but the £10 lost token fee is not a punishment! Your staff treat it as tho "that'll teach them". If I have to pay £10 just take my money and let me out I don't need to be taugh a lesson just take my money and let me out! My kids were crying that they just want to go home. this ordeal took over 30 minutes to be then overhear the staff involved say I had a bad attitude! I worked in customer service for years & when you see a single dad with 2 crying kids maybe give them the benefit of the doubt, take his money & let them leave!
I live in EK but will be sure to take my family to Silverburn, the Fort or the Forge. Retail has been hit hard since covid and I try support it but no more for EK I'm afraid. You should be doing everything you can to get business through the door, not keeping a dad and his kids from leaving your car park when is paying the lost token fee!

I haven't been with Bank of Scotland very long but I am very glad I changed banks. I was introduced to Lisa and she looked after everything for me including my bank changeover, setting up my new debit accounts, all my previous bank details. It was fast, smooth and painless. I am so grateful to her and Scott for all their help and advice. It makes an old man very happy!!! Go to it Bank of Scotland!!!!!!

They are always polite and helpful. The only negative point is the current opening hours.
