Compared to other International airports in neighbouring countries it is quite backwards. Security is unnecessarily tedious given that the new state of the art baggage scanners are no longer working. Business Lounge closes at 1800 yet there are flights departing up until 2100.When checking in hold luggage, you are not allowed to put the small barcode stickers from main bag tag onto luggage. These help identify luggage after check in personnel have put label around both handles and then the baggage handlers rip them off by picking up bags by one handle and parting the tag. It's the only airport that does not allow use of the stickers 'due to security reasons.' So out of touch with modern airports.Cannot check in earlier than 2 hours before flight because the luggage area has minimal capacity allegedly.Taxis. Hit and miss if there are any overpriced cabs available at same time as a full Amsterdam flight has landed. Be prepared to miss any planned rail connections. If you are hapless enough to use the self service check-in, be prepared then to queue up with those that were smart enough not to use the self service check-in because it is th only way to check your bags in. Unlike for example Bergen or Stavanger that have designated self service baggage drop points.Drop off charges are a rip off. £5.50 on top of taxi fare to use the airport drop off so that you can then be overcharged for food and drinks, on top of your flight costs. It's like being penalized for using the airport.Aberdeen Airport portrays itself as an International Airport but the overall experience just does not match up.It needs new management with a more customer service based approach.

The worst airport I have ever been to, lack of organization, flight delays, I don't need to write more.

One of the worst airports I?ve ever been. I live in Aberdeen and prefer to go to Edinburgh when possible rather than using Aberdeen?s. Constantly short staffed, overcharging drop off and pick ups, and poor connectivity in terms of flights. Needs to improve a lots, it?s a shame.

This place is a pathetic excuse for an international airport, the charges to pick up and drop off people is nothing but theft , the excuse for this robbery is said to be to improve the upgrade of the drop off area, this has not improved in years and where this money goes is anyones guess . To make matters worse there is limited choice for international destinations.

Not my favourite airport. Barely offers a variety of destinations to connect with long haul. Paris was a better connection than either Heathrow or Amsterdam. Whether International or Domestic, what a time it takes for bags to arrive at the reclaim. I am led to believe that the baggage handlers sometimes load the outbound flight before bringing in arriving flights bags. Shortage of personnel, bad practices. Cannot confirm this, but, something is not right. Security at any time seems well managed and processing very timely.
