while down at Craig Tara we went for a walk along dunure harbour with the dog and came across this lovely little cafe, it's a little hidden gem, staff are very welcoming, we arrived at the right time as it was starting to get busy, kids loved the hot chocolates, dog friendly meant the dog was welcomed in aswell! definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! menu looked great, might try to pop down for a breakfast before we go home! thank you!

We've had the best sensory experience at The Harbourside Café in Dunure, South Ayrshire. The magic starts with the natural setting it is nested in: Wonderful little harbour tucked away in a scenery where one feels lost in some folklore tale involving gentle mermaids singing to the friendly locals. Entering the Café, situated at the foot of the pier stretching out towards the sea, we could not help but feel hugged by the cosy and warm haven of tasteful decor and smells of coffee and sweets. We were welcomed by the cordial and attentive owners, Chef Robbo, his partner Lucy and their young son Benjamin, making us immediately feel at home and excited to taste their creations. The menu was comprehensive in its offering comfort breakfast classics, but promising of special personal twists and fresh local produce, at very reasonable price; especially considering it would turn out to be the best breakfast we've had in all our travels! The poached Hollandaise and French bread were heaven on a plate, and although the portions were very generous, we could not resist buying cakes to take away with us, as they looked as heavenly as the meals on the menu (and they were!). Our experience made us feel as if we were part of this folklore tale indeed, thus we will be back to eat at "our friends' table" again and we thoroughly advise you come along as well!

Lovely wee cafe! The Full Harbour breakfast was delicious. The house made beans are incredible! Really great locally sourced fresh food! The place was jammed packed but folks got seated quickly. Staff are really nice too.

As locals being in Ayr bur my husband lived in Dunure for over 15 years, we so wanted to get back for a well acknowledged breakfast and oh my goodness, why had we waited so long to return. We both had the full breakfast and it was just amazing. I so want the recipe for the homemade baked beans, best ever. Best breakfast ever and so lovely for my hubby to meet so many locals in there too. What a place and situation to have your breakfast but staff absolutely amazing too. Definitely be back and a regular place for us. ?

Popped in today for lunch. Really nice place. Great quality, and very friendly and engaging staff/owners. Very clean toilet which is always a bonus in an eatery. Not keen on dogs being allowed in cafes for hygiene reasons . However, realise that would limit custom due to the amount of people now owning dogs. Despite that, we will return.

This is the first time I've visited this cafe since it changed hands and I was impressed. Clean, lovely modern decor and cosy feel, welcoming atmosphere and great service. We had tea, coffee, sandwiches and sweet potato soup with a portion of the triple cooked chips. All really good quality and delicious. The coffee tasted great and the soup was spot on and flavoursome. The toilet was lovely, which is always a great touch! Will definitely be back. Well done.

Stepping inside from the rain to a very warm welcome from staff and customers Tea and cakes served with a warm smile, which really made them taste so much better Well worth taking the detour to see the small fishing village TripAdvisor had stated it was still closed, so you can?t always believe everything

Fab cafe on the harbour at Dunure. Lovely vibe, cosy on a cold day and dog friendly. Good menu, salad bowls as well as sandwiches which was very welcome.

Visited today in a very cold , windy day but given a very warm welcome on arrival. There were 5 of showed up about an hour before closing but the staff were very friendly and quickly had us seated and told us what was on offer and gave us time to decide, we all only had coffees, teas and everyone one us sampled a different kind of home baking and each one was delicious. The place is lovely, bright and cosy and clean & would happily return. The reason I only gave 4 stars and not 5 and I know this is picky but my tea cup was really cold which is a pet hate for me but the lady who served us brought a pot of hot water along with our tea which I would normally top up my tea but I used it to warm my cup and my brother in law ordered a flat white which although it was nice it came in a really small cup which to me was more suited to a cappuccino but apart from these really small things it was a lovely stop on a cold December day

I am lucky enough to live in Dunure so The Harbourside is my 'local'. The coffee is always excellent, breakfast menu has great choices and they manage to serve the very best poached eggs! Lunch menu is great and the selection of cakes mouth watering and irresistible. But a big shout out has to go to the soups. The flavours they achieve are amazing today's chunky Mediterranean vegetable had such a depth of flavour it was just completely scrummy. Perfect place for a relaxed breakfast or lunch by the sea and all nicely priced for such good quality food.
