We went to the plough for pre Christmas dinner in 2023 and enjoyed their Christmas menu. The warm welcome was only surpassed by the epic food. I would have no hesitation in recommending the plough to anyone. There were eight n our party with varying dietary requirements including two vegetarians and we were all over the moon with both the quality and quantity of the food served. It's a lovely place and we will most certainly be back...

Stayed at the Plough Inn while on a weekend away to go to Kelso races. We booked the accommodation over the phone with David and nothing was a problem. We arrived at the pub and had a pint before we were shown to our room (Thomson), the room was splendid with a good sized shower room and good supply of teas, coffees, hot chocolate etc., the coffee machine is a great idea. We had an amazing nights sleep on one of the comfiest mattresses you could imagine, the room was lovely and warm at all times. On our first night we had booked the Xmas Fayre dinner with celeriac soup for starters followed by Turkey dinner with all the trimmings and finished off with a Scottish liqueur, all this was done by Sarah and delightfully served by Fay, it was fantastic. David keeps a well stocked bar and a lovely pint, all can be enjoyed in the cosy bar and snug . On our second night we chose off the normal menu and again everything was first class. Breakfast was served in the snug and was very tasty with good quality fresh ingredients. The Plough Inn is ideally situated for visiting the Borders and was for us just a short drive to Kelso races which unfortunately was abandoned. This did not spoil our weekend as we had a great time at the Plough. We very much look forward to returning to the Plough in the near future to enjoy the warm hospitality given by David and Sarah.

The Plough is an immaculate country inn. We stayed overnight, in a very comfortable and well-equipped room. Food excellent (lovely apple pie and custard) and the full Scottish breakfast comes with great haggis. Friendly and helpful service. We had stayed the previous couple of nights in a 4-star Edinburgh hotel, with pretentiously and badly designed bedrooms, and it was chalk and cheese: The Plough was so much better. Full marks to hosts David and Sarah for running such a super place. Great value; highly recommended.

Wonderful Sunday lunch, my wife had roast beef, I had the vegan option. Tasted marvellous, I especially enjoyed the vegan cauliflower cheese! My wife really enjoyed hers too. The only downside was we were so full we didn?t have room for desert. The rest of the menu looks great

Lovely, friendly staff and the house cat Hamish made us feel very welcome from the get go. The food was stunning, from garlic mushrooms to poached haddock. Proper home cooked food. I can?t recommend the poached haddock enough! To top it all off, they allowed us to park the camper van in their back garden over night. Will definitely come back if up this way again.

I stumbled across this gem of a country inn via Google maps as I was in the area. Sarah & David had an immaculate room for me which was filled with thoughtful details, from the choice of quality drinks on the in room tray to many usb power points. They have loving restored this solid building. The range and quality of the dinner menu was amazing and Sarah does every detail with loving care. The vegan pie was a lovely surprise. Breakfast was perfect and I didn't need to eat all day after this treat. Oh and great 4G reception from EE on bathroom side. Many thanks ?

Delicious meal, food excellent at every visit. Italian night was exceptional tonight, and meals enjoyed by us all. Top restaurants could learn a few things on service and superb food from David and Sarah. We live in Suffolk and wish we had a pub like this near us. See you soon.

We stayed with two other couples in 3 of the guestrooms which were very clean and comfortable. Tea/Coffee facilities in the room together with hairdryer, hanging space and a lovely walk in shower. The bed was huge and comfortable. David and Sara are a lovely couple who work very hard to please their guests. The Scottish breakfast was awesome with my first try of haggis!!. Good food, lovely atmosphere in a very quiet rural setting close to Coldstream and the lovely Wedderburn Castle in Dunns where we attended a friends wedding. Please support this lovely couple. Great stay!!

What a wonderful stay in the Borders! The Plough Inn run by hosts Sarah and David is really welcoming and a great experience. Both Sarah and David go out of their way to provide excellent accommodation, food and atmosphere which will make you want to come back for more. You can easily see by the way they run it that they really enjoy hosting and wish everybody a positive time with them. The rooms are a good size with all the facilities you might expect including coffee and tea making, radio, television, wifi and very comfortable beds. If you wish to have a meal at the Plough Inn don't be surprised at the quality of what is delivered to your table. David is great at the front of house making you feel comfortable and well looked after. The food is cooked to order and is always first class. Sarah is a whizz in the kitchen and cooks for pleasure which helps ensure her guests really enjoy what they are served. In addition she is always on the lookout for an extra garnish to add to the already delicious flavour and after the dining experience you're guaranteed to not be left wanting. The Plough Inn is situated in the quaint village of Leitholm in the Borders and as such is very quiet and peaceful. If you need a good rest and good food this is definitely the place to stay!

We visited a few times during a weeks stay in Leitholm village and were blown away by the standard of cooking. The menu is extensive and uses local produce (Thurs night on the Italian menu Pollo Kiev made using chicken from butchers in Norham absolutely fantastic and a wonderful Tiramisu aswell) We appreciated the quiet efficiency of David front of house who never stops but seems to remain patient and friendly welcoming us warmly with our dog In our party of 4 we have had the lasagne 3 times this week it is so good and the take away service is a brilliant bonus the pub website has a takeaway menu food same as we had sitting in. We can't recommend enough a visit to eat and if weather good the view from beer garden is lovely
