We were so lucky to decide to spend our weekend here. This is a paradise. The surroundings are so unique with all the high trees, fast river hosting salmon, reindeers, lovely walks. The hotel itself is above all our expectations. Breakfast and dinner mouthwatering. We?d like to thank the whole staff for making us feel so welcome. We?ll be back.

Lovely refurbished country house hotel within walking distance of the centre of Dunkeld. The hotel is very well equipped and is well maintained. Our superior room was reasonably spacious and nicely decorated, however the bed was only a queen sized one at most which is a bit disappointing these days where even mid range hotels have king sized beds as a minimum. Staff were very friendly and on the whole were attentive and on the ball, with only a couple of minor missteps. The food in the bar was good, and the buffet breakfast was very good quality. Wine was only available by the glass in the bar which is a pain if you?re there for food, and represents poor value. The spa was good, and there are plenty of walks along the river and into the woods. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return.

The setting was lovely and the staff were helpful, but the veggie option for the afternoon tea wasn?t great and you were told what it was (we had to ask twice to find out)

We've been coming to Dunkeld since we got married in 2010; my parents a good few years before that & it's our yearly venture every Feb...My wife & I stayed in the hotel this time as my parents property was full/all beds usedThis year was a let down (again, unfortunately); room and board, absolutely fine (General Wade building). Room lovely and clean, warm and well laid out. Nice big bathroom (although the bath is very narrow and only lukewarm water, whereas the shower was scolding hot)...! How do you manage this?!We stayed B&B as had planned to eat out/at my folks property; so that makes life easier, or so you'd think...Every morning at 0830; into the dining room we went; sat at our table, fresh hot coffee brought. Superb....Plenty to choose from (cereals, fresh fruit, breads/pastries, cooked breakfast, other items off the menu (porridge, pancakes, Eggs Benedict etc). However, this is where it all went downhill...The cooked food/served food was tepid at best; the self serve items (eggs, sausages, potato cakes, sausages, black pudding etc); are sat in warming dishes but they were flabby, leathery and warm, just... The porridge was like it'd be sat for days, akin to wallpaper paste and the ordered pancakes were cold, with flabby/leathery bacon (supposed to be crisp). My wife's Eggs Benedict exactly the same (warm poached eggs (solid); horrible leathery bacon etcFeedback left; whether it'll be taken on board is a different question. Suffice to say I highly doubt we'll stay there again, we've had too many poor experiences over the last few years and for the money that they charge (which TBH is laughable at best); it's not a good level of quality at all.So much could be done much, much better, and very easily... Yet, down the penny pinching owners and them upping the prices; it's only ever going to end with feedback like this!

Beautiful building in a stunning location with pleasant riverside walks into village. Quite a lot of parking but still struggled with hotel full.Excellent check in with attentive and friendly staff....however checkout was problematic with the bill being totally mixed up.Rooms nicely decorated and very clean, beds the most uncomfortable ive ever encountered, pillows rock hard....softer ones provided were lumpy.....quilt was like cardboard! Room was small in comparison to similar hotels. Bathroom very small....couldnt fit 2 people , shower entrance behind bathroom door was awkward.Heating in room was excellent.Dining room was stunning, good ambience but very uncomfortable upright bench seats. Food excellent but pricey. Wines excellent but pricey.Bar dining had better choices and equally good quality.Service excellent but it transpired that waiters couldnt cope with 2 rooms eating together and mixed up both our bills.Spa service was good but facility tired and needs updating, not much room for loungers, full of small noisy children......even in the jacuzzi...not my idea of a spa ...nowhere to relax. Massage excellent but pricey and therapy rooms very small and noisy.Overall a good stay but lots of room for improvement.Food & drinks: Excellent food beatifully presented but very expensive
