Super pleased with my experience with Scottish SPCA Dunfermline. Bob who came out and dealt with my concern was very knowledgeable also kind & caring when speaking about wildlife, he also explained a lot which now gives me peace of mind. Bob arrived after I called about what appeared to be an injured bird, turns out the bird was concussed and was took back to be rehabilitated. I was lucky enough to be called back within the hour of Bob collecting the bird as he was bringing it back to be released as the bird was showing really good signs that it was feeling better. Seeing the bird released absolutely fine melted my heart. I'm so thankful for the workers of Scottish SPCA. Please anyone who have concerns about injured wildlife CALL THEM! They will give you the best advice on what to do and sadly if the only option is to euthanize the animal then it has to be done, don't let the animal suffer in pain for longer than it has to. It also might have the chance at surviving if you call them. Don't think the worst.

Great volunteers very appreciative of donations

The idea of volunteering with SSPCA seemed good. I got registered 2 years ago and was happy to do pretty much anything. What a waste of time! I have a wide skill set, and I'm sure I could have done something useful. All they want is for people to shake buckets. Without boring anyone with all the details, I have found this organisation to be very disjointed and poorly managed. They spend a fortune advertising for donations and volunteers...... why, when they don't use the volunteers they have.
I have since become involved with a small animal charity, which is very hands-on and so interesting. That's where my money and skills go now.

We contacted Sspca on Wednesday morning regarding an injured Deer that had been hit by a car and left to die.Within an hour Sspca operative Beth was on the scene. Beth showed the highest quality of professionalism and caring nature whilst rescuing the Deer. Beth also updated us on the progress of the Deer on Wednesday and Thursday reporting that the Deer had recovered well and was back free in the countryside. We cannot praise the Sspca enough for this kind of service the call handlers also showing worthy of praise. They represent your company to the highest standard . Well done to all involved .

Many years ago now I placed my wee family dog with the Scottish SPCA as I couldn't look after him I was in homeless accomodation and they didn't allow dogs,I felt so saddened and guilty for letting him go but what else could I do,and even now I miss him terribly ,he's probably dead now, his name was Ben and he was a jack Russell with brown ears white muzzle and body with a patch off brown on his back,It was round about late 1996ish I don't know if you've archived records of animals that come into your care , but it'd be nice to know he lived a comfortable life till the end off his days. The Sspca do very good jobs and I hold them with the highest regard.

Closed for the duration. Unfortunately the SSPCA is a toothless money making business instead of the charity it originally was, and wildlife is routinely put to sleep.

I have filled in 2 online forms in the past month about a dog being starved whilst in kennels losing 11 kilos. I have had NO response. I have now phoned 4 times being promised something would be done and that the matter was being investigated. I have heard from no one. How can the matter be investigated when no one has contacted me for details, no one has seen the poor condition of the dog and no one has read my vets damning report.
SPCA seems to be all about raising funds etc but not bothered about abuse to animals.
Utterly disgraceful.

This morning I reported an injured bat in my garden so I took it inside in a warm box. Within a very short space of time Bob from SSPCA arrived from Dunfermline, examined it and took it away. Absolutely first class from the SSPCA and particularly Bob. Well done!! ????

Phoned up as I am needing help with 2 rescues to be told they are full and cannot help me. My local vet has no clue regarding these exotic species and my local expert refuses to see me without a referral. Really disappointing considering it?s an animal charity who?s main goal is supposed to help sick/injured animals. I have an animal here which I am trying my best to help but I feel I am way over my head so I will now have to sit and watch him suffer a slow and painful death whilst I watch helplessly as Scotlands big animal charity are not interested. Thanks guys.

Thank you Fiona for your kind help in retrieving the pheasant from inside the front grill of my car. Also reassuringe me the next morning that the pheasant had been eating and doing well and would be released on to farmland that day.

Unfortunately unable to get in or speak to anyone. I left four boxes of cat food outside and hope that it can or will be utilised.
