Ordered a beef burger, chicken quesidilla and chick n rice. Been wanting to try this for a while as I last ate this type of food at Pepes in Aberdeen which was incredible.
Been left very disappoionted with some of it - the order arrived almost 15 minutes late and that is something I really cant stand.
The burger - Amazing !
Chick n rice - Amazing !
Chicken nachos - absolutely the worst I have ever had in my life - it was layered - all the STALE nachos on the bottom (they felt and tasted like the bag had been left open for a week before cooking, then there was a layer of cheese which had solidified into a giant line of plywood and then the chicken on top which was as tasty as I expected. Never had my nachos layered like Lasagne before - normally the cheese and Nachos are mixed throughout - wont be going back there for them anyway.
So disappointed with the nachos but the other dishes were excellent so 3 our of 5

What a twist! I had only heard good things about this place and as usual I'd expect something to be not quite right.
The food is just undescribable, simply said this was the best meal in a while! Seasoned chips along side the best flavoured chicken, the rivals can go home, Pepe's is here ?

I recently visited Pepe's in Kirkcaldy with high expectations, hoping to enjoy a delightful meal. Unfortunately, my experience turned out to be nothing short of a culinary disaster. From raw chicken to overdone fries, my visit left me thoroughly disappointed and questioning the standards of this establishment.
Upon entering Pepe's, the atmosphere seemed welcoming enough. The staff appeared friendly, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. However, the issues began as soon as I received my order. I had opted for a chicken meal with a side of fries, a seemingly simple and straightforward choice. What could possibly go wrong with such a basic order? As it turned out, almost everything.
The first and most concerning issue was the raw chicken. When I cut into my chicken, I was horrified to find it undercooked. The meat was visibly pink and felt disturbingly cold in the center. Consuming raw chicken poses serious health risks, including foodborne illnesses like salmonella. Serving raw chicken is not just a mistake; it is a glaring oversight that indicates a severe lack of attention to food safety protocols. It left me wondering about the kitchen's hygiene standards and whether proper food handling procedures were being followed.
The fries, on the other hand, were overdone to the point of being almost inedible. They were dark brown, hard, and tasted bitter, a clear sign of overcooking. Instead of being a crisp and satisfying accompaniment to my meal, they were a chore to chew and lacked any enjoyable texture or flavor. It's baffling how such a basic item could be so poorly prepared. Properly cooked fries should be golden and crispy on the outside while remaining fluffy on the inside. Unfortunately, Pepe's failed to deliver on this front as well.
Moreover, the portion sizes were disappointingly small. For the price I paid, I expected a generous serving of food. Instead, I received a scant amount that barely satisfied my hunger. It felt like a rip-off, adding insult to injury after the disastrous quality of the meal.
I brought the issues to the attention of the staff, hoping for a resolution. While they were polite and offered to replace the meal, the damage had already been done. The thought of potentially facing another round of raw chicken and overdone fries was unappealing, to say the least. I declined their offer and chose to leave, thoroughly dissatisfied and hungry.
This experience has made me lose faith in Kirkcaldy Pepe's. Serving raw chicken is a serious offense, one that no restaurant should ever commit. It's a fundamental expectation for any dining establishment to prioritize food safety and ensure that all dishes are cooked to the appropriate standards. Overcooked fries, while not as dangerous, still indicate a lack of care and attention to detail in the kitchen.
In conclusion, my visit to Kirkcaldy Pepe's was a regrettable experience. Raw chicken, overdone fries, and small portion sizes made for a thoroughly disappointing meal. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a safe and enjoyable dining experience. Until they address these serious issues and improve their food preparation standards, I will be steering clear of Pepe's in Kirkcaldy. If you're in the area and craving a good meal, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Bought the chicken rice hot last night. At first, I thought it was OK. But, as I continued, the food was totally one dimensional. I could barely detect the taste of the chicken for the hot dressing on it. It was just the same for the rice - totally dry, with a hot powdery taste to it. It would have been better, had it not just been chicken, dry rice and a hot chilli powder.
I like spicy food, but I expect to experience something other than chilli powder. -NEVER AGAIN! On a positive, my wife enjoyed her mild chicken burger. But, not worth £16+. Next time it's round the corner to Pauls for a chippy

First thing, drink was forgotten had to go back to get the last drink.
Ordered a plain wrap got cheese
Ordered a wrap with no lettuce, got lettuce and no tomato salsa and sauce. (Which were asked for)
No dips given after buying 4 which you won?t believe cost extra
All probably could?ve been avoided if they changed the way they take their orders, let the customers speak instead of cutting them off and asking a pre selected question like meal/no meal. Which before getting cut of I said a meal.
