The prices are much higher than in university website and personally thought was overpriced for small lunch size. Def was snack size. Wraps are the small side plate size with a handful of crisps rather than coleslaw. Even though menu said coleslaw. Salad was nice. It was very small plate for 10.75. We would say go somewhere else for lunch. Ok for a coffee.

This has got to be the worst cafe i have ever been to. Avoid at all cost, its grubby, service terrible, food awful. just avoid at all costs.

Ordered soup which was watery and a tiny portion. Also ordered a filled roll with salad and was served a filled sandwich instead, with 3 small lettuce leaves on the side! The outdoor eating area stank of the bin area. Won?t be back.

Nice setting Service was slow. Couples who arrived after us were served at table before us. They were having bacon rolls and we were having a cake and coffee. To me serving up cake and coffee is faster than bacon rolls. Overall twenty minutes from order to plate. Not good enough.

Visited this cafe earlier today. Waited 25 minutes and observed 2 groups served ahead of us, a total of 6 persons who arrived after ourselves. Questioned a staff member who told us our order was just coming. Another 10 minutes passed we asked again and we?re told our order was about ready. Then and another group of 4 were served ahead of us. We were only in for coffee and cake. At which point we left.Dreadful service from a cafe that we have previously enjoyed.

We only visited the cafe so can?t comment on the gardens itself. We Ordered a chicken and bacon Mayo baguette - when it came it was dry slices of chicken with cold dry bacon rashers with large spoonfuls of Mayo on top. Not what we were expecting and looked very unappetising. We returned this for something else which was okay. Waitress seemed bemused to what the issue was. No one came to see if food was okay, plates weren?t cleared. Service seemed poor. I had a wrap which was very small and looked like it had been pressed/toasted flat, again not what I was expecting but I ate it and tasted okay. Not value for money - I think it was nearly £8 if I remember for the small wrap. Have been before and enjoyed it but on this occasion it was underwhelming.

After over 20 mins wait for our order, it was wrong. Kept drinks, waited for right food. Turned up 20 mins later burnt. By this time, drinks cold or finished. Food sent back. No real apology or compensation other than the throwaway phrase ?I can only apologise?. Wouldn?t come back. Shame as we used to like this place but seems to be going downhill. Came here a few weeks ago only for scones and tables were dirty and again, all was a bit basic. Nothing noteworthy.

Lovely place and area but typical young staff all chatting among themselves, left to themselves with no manager around. 10 mins to make and serve 2 coffees on a Sunday morning!!! Staff pleasant but just having a laugh between themselves. GET A MANAGER or only leave staff alone if they're responsible. SHAME as the gardens are such a nice place. Typical let down in Scotland on the catering management or lack of it
