Our stay at Travelodge Dumfries was, for the most part, pleasantly comfortable. The room was spotless, with fresh towels provided, a working kettle with mugs, and the usual selection of tea and coffee sachets. The bed itself was perfectly cosy, offering a restful sleep?until it wasn?t.
While the bathroom could do with a touch of care?particularly around the silicone in the tub and the rather slippery ?non-slip? mat?it served its purpose. Though there's no on-site food service, you?re well covered with a Greggs and a Shell station nearby for a quick bite.
All in all, a good night's rest... until just after midnight, when an HGV arrived and decided to serenade the entire car park with its refrigerator unit at full blast. A gentle reminder, dear driver: switching it off a moment before pulling in might have preserved everyone's sleep. You're a hero, Mr Driver?you truly are.

The rooms are tired and waiting for a refurb. But they are clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff are absolutely fantastic and so helpful. We couldn't book online prior to arrival so the lovely lady on reception sorted contact with the booking centre. She was an angel in our hour of need. The night receptionist was helpful and the morning receptionist fabulous as well. The service was by far outstanding.
Please do a refurb on this hotel, your staff deserve it!

Out of town and while back from the road there is quite a bit of traffic noise. The lady on reception couldn't really be bothered with us when we checked it. She didn't charge me correctly and it was all very troublesome for her. Not slick lime I expected. Still do t have a WiFi code even though I paid for it and have asked. It's OK... room clean but that's the only plus point.

I stayed for a night coming off the ferry from Ireland. The room was clean and the bed comfortable however the hotel is in desperate need of updating the decoration is very tired and faded Everything worked but no air conditioning and sealant around bath was discoloured with age. Quiet location especially for rooms at the back facing woodland

Absolutely appalling treatment towards HGV drivers. I arrived at this hotel in the early hours of the morning (around 2am on 20/05/2025) to make a scheduled delivery. I rang the intercom and explained clearly to the older male staff member that I was the delivery driver for the site. I politely asked to use the toilet a basic human right, especially for key workers like HGV drivers working through the night.
To my shock, I was bluntly told there were ?no toilets.? A hotel? with no toilets? Not only is this completely unreasonable, but it?s also against the law to deny delivery drivers access to toilet facilities while on duty. I left angry and frustrated. There was absolutely no need for the rudeness or refusal, and the attitude shown was disgraceful.
I would strongly suggest corporate get involved and ensure this staff member is made aware of the law regarding this basic right. Delivery drivers are the backbone of your supply chain treating them with respect and dignity should be the bare minimum.

Absolutely awful hotel would rather sleep in my car than stay another night in this hotel. A lovely aroma of feet and old people will hit you as you enter and once you get through that you?re greeted with a dirty poorly maintained room with ceiling lights which are confused on if they want to work or not. Fair to say got a full refund never to return again.

We walked in hoping for a room for the night.The lady (Mandy) who greeted us was amazing she did everything she could for us,we'd never done it before and it was our first time in a Travelodge.We got the last room available and was well pleased with it so a massive thank you to Mandy and we will definitely come stay again.Oh also on the way out a young male member of staff was very nicely spoken to us wishing us a good morning and safe journey home.Really nice friendly people. Thank you so much.
