Worst experience stinky place to spend a night

I didn't realise when I booked this family room that I would sacrifice so much for saving a small amount on the price compared to other local Travelodge. Despite a family room it is quite literally next to a very busy railway track which disturbed us all night. The room is very tired, although spotless, and there is no lock on the bathroom door despite there being 4 of us in here. The hot water bath tap is luke warm and only suitable for a very quick bath for the children as it's simply not warm enough - similar for the shower but the bath definitely wouldn't be hot enough for an adult. Stayed in many Travelodge and I'm very very disappointed with this one.
**I have amended my rating to 3* as immediately after speaking with the manager she moved us to an alternative room which is absolutely fine. Can't fault the staff, and extra canteen supplies, etc fully replenishef when asked. Would recommend checking the location of the room before booking ?

I stayed in this hotel in August 2025 and i had a terrible experience. The room is by the side of a train track, till 12.30 in night there were trains passing every 10 mins and started early morning.. noise was so loud couldn't sleep.. on the top of it, there is no lift for rooms on upper floor and you are supposed to lift all your luggage upper floor..toilet was very stinky, towels were stinky... Room was dirty.. no air control .. only a very small fan for a three person room ... Very pathetic... Not recommended at all..

I wouldn?t even give this a star, we checked in for 3 night, first night at 1am on the night banging, stamping and a lot of noise getting made from upstairs. I went and spoke to reception who went and spoke to the family upstairs but the noises continued and seemed to be getting louder this continued till 2am I went down to reception again to ask about changing rooms to which they couldn?t accommodate us another room as they was fully booked so we went back ans packed out things as we could not get any sleep as the noise from upstairs got worse, the lady on the desk Tina said about coming back following day to speak to manager about refund so I did and the manager Joyce was appalling for a management position, not apologetic or sympathetic I asked for refund and she told me that I could only be refunded the one night ans not the rest and when I challenged she said this was all she could do. I think this was discusting customer services and I wouldn?t recommend them to anyone here to stay. We ended up having to pay extra £200 to stay in another hotel at 2:30am and I couldn?t even get refunded for my bad experience

Hotel is in a bit of a weird location however this can't be helped, but did have places to grab food and petrol in walking distance (Starbucks & londis) and local bus services. Our room had everything we needed and I must say it was very clean, only issues found was a whole in one of the single beds bedsheets and the bathroom floor could have done with further clean but overall I was pleasantly surprised about the overall cleanliness, it was very clean. Double bed was very comfy and had a quiet nights sleep. Staff on reception was very helpful and friendly, the lady on reception helped us sort a taxi out, for us going out in the evening.

A real pain to find, tucked away behind Starbucks and a petrol station.
No-one in reception on arrival had to call a number posted on the desk.
Limited places to get food in walking distance.still the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.

Stayed here for a long weekend not very well sign posted missed the turning twice it's on a busy part of the a82, our room was basic clean and tidy but very noisy due to being next to a train line and busy road.most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a Starbucks and Londis shop near by and Indian restaurant which was lovely. Plenty options on just eat if your looking for a delivery. Although the hotel it's self does look a bit run down could do with a bit of work.
