“Had a really lovely stay at this gorgeous old hotel. Built around 1890, this hotel has been given new life by its current owners who have injected their personality into the hotel. On arrival we were warmly greeted by one of the owners who took some time to give us advice about attractions in the area. The hotel is in a really gorgeous location with wildlife all around- we saw pheasants, grouse and red squirrels! Our room and bathroom were compact but comfortable and very clean and the bed was excellent. The restaurant is terrific and you need to book as it’s popular with the locals as well as guests. Breakfast was excellent- a very nice complimentary continental buffet with hot food cooked to order for a reasonable price. The staff who work here are so friendly and very helpful with great suggestions for things to see This lovely quirky old lady of a hotel won’t suit everyone. That’s fine and the owners aren’t seeking to please everyone- no cookie-cutter experience here. But this place has a heart and soul that you can feel and isn’t easily found. Highly recommended.”

“Great experience!! Dave and Lisa were amazing. We had such fun there and great visits with the locals. The food was really excellent and the chef will gladly tell you about his daily chef specials. We also looked at the hotel rooms and they are very clean and spacious. We would definitely recommend this place”
