I always stop at the Buttercup when in Doune. Great food and coffee. Recently visited with a friend and waited to be seated as per signage. Nobody came forward or acknowledged us waiting so I stepped up to the counter and asked if I could possibly have a table for two (there was a few empty tables). Member of staff was then very curt in her response and told me I should have waited as per signage, I tried to tell her that's exactly what we did but she was not prepared to listen! Anyway, once seated we had a lovely lunch of ciabatta with braised beef, chimichurri and gravy. Would definitely recommend stopping for food.

Beautiful cafe in the small village of Doune. Fab varied menu with fresh ingredients. Home baked cakes to die for. Great service. Highly recommended you pay them a visit.

Worst place I?ve ever been, bacon looked as if it was heat with a lighter and hung out to dry with the washing.
Links Sausages grease dripping off them tasted really funky along with the haggis really poor quality of food.
Tattie scones weren?t proper tattie scones either if I could give this place 0 I would worst £30.00 ever spent on food for 2 breakfasts and 2 juices.
Really poor.

Usually meet a friend here for brunch/lunch. They do a really lovely cooked breakfast, and great value for money. I don't have a big appetite, and pleased as they do a smaller breakfast. You get a pot of tea too rather than a mug and can get about 3-4 cuppas out of it. The service is always good, and you are never kept waiting long for your food. I would advise to pre book a table, as they always seem to be busy. Definitely worth a visit, and there are a couple of lovely unique shops right behind the cafe too.
