This hotel is so obviously lying to guests about the availability of showers in rooms. They do not work. If you expect to take a shower in 1 hour like you?re in the 16th century with a tiny bit of water you can be happy of course. If not, you?ll be frustrated on a holiday? the receptionist said ?I?ll get a man in the morning to fix? but I read the reviews on various platforms and everybody has been complaining about this. I could not take a shower! I want my money back!!! The only good thing is the history and the fact that it is a castle but the restaurant, service and food is not really good.Rooms: Showers do NOT WORK!!!!!

Tulloch castle hotel a great place to stay, o my four stars due to room sizes but that is normal in this country and typical for an older building- this is very much an older building. They are obviously and justifiably proud of their workplace. As a Scot, I loved it and for any foreign visitors it will be fantastic as the original building is older than many countries, with oak panelling and open fireplaces as well as a reasonable menu and good bar (well stocked with whiskies) it is a great place to stay if you are not afraid of the odd ghost or two.

Stayed 3 nights in August, loved this place, would stay again. We really loved the location. I would love to live there and be the gardener and spruce up the gardens.Rooms: Our room was great, nice big room. No AC but the windows open and there was a fan in our room. Huge tub to soak in.Nearby activities: Great location to day trip farther north. We went to Dunrobin Castle, Cairn Liath, and Fort Rose Cathedral.

We were in room #7 which was a four poster with king bed. However, the bed was more like a queen size. The room was very clean and almost seemed like it had been recently refurbished. The room was on the top floor with lots of twists and turns and 55 steps up. Wi Fi was good. Parking was great. The staff was very nice and helpful. Had dinner the first night at The Green Lady bar. Had a light meal, but it was good. We had paid for Bed and Breakfast, so our breakfast was included in the package. Breakfast was made to order and came hot and was good. This was a very nice hotel to stay at and the service was excellent.

We booked this hotel as a treat for our birthdays, spending more than normal for a little luxury. The castle is beautiful outside, not quite so much inside the rooms, but it?s warm and cosy and clean. Our room was as described, huge bed and plenty of space. We had a couple of issues but staff were friendly and helpful even though the issues weren?t able to be resolved during our stay. We booked to include breakfasts during our stay and we were a little disappointed, food not always hot and sometimes appearing like it had been cooked a while before we got it. Overall, it wasn?t quite the experience we?d hoped for, but we had a good time regardless and staff were all friendly and helpful. Tip. There are a lot of stairs to the top bedrooms!

Downstairs was nice...like a castle.. upstairs was just like any other hotel .Bar was shut when we arrived.Expected champagne in the room, as it's in the photograph on the advert. It wasn't there.Vegetarian breakfast didn't come with vegi haggis as advertised on the menu.Food was nice, but very small portions.Overall it was good, but I wouldn't rush back.

We stayed at the Tulloch Castle during our trip to Scotland. The Castle needed a bit of love. Room was ok, no A/C and only able to open one window. The tour available at 10:30pm is mostly the history of the castle and you visit one room?.. There is no elevator and a lot of stairs!!!

The castle looks great, but the bad experience started with the check in. They didn?t know where the keys were. Rooms were ok, bar as well, but the staff was very unexperienced. Breakfast was not free as announced, and what was served was a joke. We even got told off by staff when we asked for bread and chese. You can find a better place, I?m sure.

It felt a bit like Fawlty Towers. The breakfast was a joke and expensive. We even got told off when asking for some kind of bread. The bartender mixed up our tabs in the bar. But the food from the bar menu was nice. Not a hotel I would recommend to my friends.

The room was a bit pricey but nice so I didn't mind spending a little extra. Overall Tulloch Castle is a nice place the one complaint would be the bed was not in good shape. At the end of the day we need to sleep and it wasn't the best rest.

BLACK MOLD ?-The black mold in the bathroom was so intense I couldn?t go in. I had to keep the door shut to the room so I could sleep. I couldn?t shower and had to hold my breath to use the toilet. They wouldn?t give me a refund and were very curt about it. I am not a complainer, nor do I need things perfect but this was over the top. Don?t go.

Enjoyed our stay in this castle. The food was good, and the accommodation was great. A local that once worked in the castle gave us a lovely tour and stories. It added to the great experience.

Once you drive through the housing estate you reach the hotel. Must say it has seen far better days, although the room we had was actually very nice the whole experience, bar and restaurant are very disappointing. Staff were friendly but the gangster rap music in the bar while we had an afternoon cocktail was not appreciated. The evening meal was completely inedible and nobody even asked why we had not touched it (I had lamb and my wife had lemon sole), there was also a very unprofessional approach by staff interacting with drunk Americans noisily the whole thing just seemed very amateurish. There is nothing within walking distance so one here you are stuck, take note, also it?s not cheap.

What a wonderful stay the restaurant was great. The tavern was great the management and all the staff were fantastic. Just had a blast for a few days visiting the local sites.

Davidson Room This room is located at the front of the building, on the ground floor. Which means as other guests arrive and leave they are able to look straight into the bedroom which has no blinds or nets to allow sunlight in whilst blocking out those nosey neighbours. Hence during my stay the curtains were closed, which meant no beautiful view of the hills opposite! We were also told by reception to make sure our door was locked as customer who are in the dungeon eating, like to try doors to see what is behind them. The room is large and decorated in a modern, traditional style. The bathroom has both a shower and bath as well as a pleasant vanity sink. When I tried to have a shower, I waited and waited for the water to get hot, but only the only thing that happened, was the base of the shower filled with cold water. When I asked reception for help they told me that as this room is the furthest from the boiler we won?t be able to get hot water, only warm. They were right, neither the shower or bath got to temperatures above what I would call ?warm?. Evening meal was pleasant but not special and the breakfast was the worse I?d had at any of the 7 hotels I?d stayed at during our tour. Not one, I?d recommend.
