It's a really good standby restaurant. The food is very good, though I hope the menu could be refreshed. The food is always good, but the menu hasn't been really updated for some time. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

My husband and I celebrated our joint 50th birthday at Loudounhill Inn and our group consisted of 15 people. I cannot praise Loudounhill Inn highly enough. They were faultless in their serving. The food was amazing and it all arrived at the same time piping hot. Everyone of our party commented on how great the food was. I would like to say a particular thanks to the lady who waited on our table all night - nothing was a bother to her bearing in mind the rest of the restaurant was busy. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone was attended to and helped to make our celebrations very special. Thank you once again Loudounhill Inn - you excelled yourself.

We live locally and tried this restaurant for lunch with our three kids. My eldest got fish and chips and the fish was swimming in grease and the batter was like gunge. I got the haggis Bon bons, the mash was cold, lumpy and chewy and the sauce had a skin on it. I also got steak pie. The gravy in the steak pie was disgusting and again the mash was lumpy, chewy and cold. Pizzas were burnt on the bottom and my daughters macaroni was cold. After being served our food no one came back to check how our meal was and after sitting not eating for around 20 min I shouted someone over for the bill. No one cleared the table, asked how our food was or asked why 2 of the meals had hardly been touched.

I ordered the steak pie to be delivered. Only reason I gave 4 stars was the food wasn?t warm enough. It was flavoursome, mash potatoes silky smooth, stew tender, gravy wonderful and veg not mush. Will definitely be ordering again and recommending for eat in and takeaway.

We had a great dining experience here. The service was excellent, cozy with the wood-burning stove on, tasty food and child-friendly. We had just been out in the cold climbing Loudon Hill with our young kids and it was ideal for a nice warm inviting lunch afterwards. Would highly recommend.
