Great coffee and excellent scones

As well as being a post office, this is also a lovely cafe. They do excellent coffee and other drinks and cakes and scones. The scones are especially good, served with cream and jam. No savoury dishes or sandwiches. There are five or six tables inside and four bench tables outside where you can enjoy a view of the castle in the bay with your scones - unless there is a post van blocking your view! Friendly staff.

Lovely spot for an ice cream. It would have been a full cone but it was so hot I had to eat it.

Really enjoyed our visit , Jeanette made us really welcome. Our cream teas tasted fantastic , lots of friendly chat and useful information about things to see and do on the Island. A must visit when visiting Barra.

Tiny cafe in a side room off the post office with very homely atmosphere and large scones with lots of cream (not clotted!) and jam. Great chat with the Postmaster who is planning to move to Barbados when he retires next year.

Charming and quirky. Owner was a real character. Reminded me of Wallace and Grommit with his dog ! Fantastic location and authentic experience. Highly recommended.

They advertise their scones as 10/10. They have raised the bar. They?re better than that. They are excellent and freshly baked. A delightful and unexpectedly charming post office / cafe. We had the warmest of welcomes from the owners who provided helpful local advice and tales of the Whisky Galore film. Spud the dog was very pleased to welcome us too. Highly recommended.

My amazing Partner and I are doing Outer Hebrides tour during October Holiday. We wanted a hot drink and found the Macroons Yes room to be better than we expected. The couple got us seated and the lady who took our order brought out a yummy looking sultana scone. She mentioned, in a lovely Yorkshire accent "I can't bake small scones". Not only large but genuinely delicious. Excellent value for money, excellent service and Kisimuil Castle very nearby.

Get here early as by lunch time the cakes had almost all gone and only tea and coffee available. This is a popular spot with walkers, cyclists and ... well the whole of Castlebay it would seem. Good cakes . Nice spot to have a brew and rest.

Oh my word, the scones and cakes are absolutely superb, and all served with a joke and a laugh. Fantastic find on the first day of our holiday today - we will definitely be back!
