Was here for dinner last night. The restaurant is beautiful the decor elegant and understated. One arrival we were seated in the bar area where we had a drink and our order taken. Generally the staff were friendly but it felt rushed and not personal or warm - more functional. We were taken through to the main dining room and had the same staff experience. The food was good, but not exceptional, which I expected given its Michelin status. The pork cheek was good but a little dry. The lamb was also good but the elements of the dish elevate as expected. Overall a good experience but there are so many excellent restaurants in Scotland, unfortunately this is isn?t at the top of that list.

Absolutely outstanding. The restaurant itself is set in a quiet, scenic little village with chic decor and a beautiful garden overlooking a stunning view.
The service we received from arrival was second to none, a special mention to the young blonde gentleman who mostly served us throughout our 2hr stay - he was charming and outgoing, and genuinely fun company.
The food? Cannot fault it. The pairings of flavours, the presentation and the portions were absolutely perfect. It was my partner's 32nd birthday gift, and the staff presented him with a little surprise at the end - thank you so much for making a memorable experience even more enjoyable and personal for him tonight.
We will be recommending this restaurant to friends and family alike, and will be back!

I have enjoyed many great restaurants in my life. But the experience at the Peat Inn was truly fantastic. The entire staff is so warm and welcoming . And the food, we?ll let me say it was the best I have ever had in my life. . The presentation and explanation of each dish was exemplary. I look forward to coming back my next visit to Scotland. Well done Peat Inn.

We had such a memorable meal at The Peat Inn. It?s a charming, intimate setting with thoughtful touches throughout?from the atmosphere to the plating. The food was absolutely exceptional?every course beautifully crafted and full of flavor. The service matched the quality of the meal: gracious, warm, and attentive without ever feeling too formal. A truly special experience, and one I?d recommend to anyone visiting the area. You can feel the care and detail in every part of the evening.

We stayed at The Peat Inn as part of our Scotland road trip, and it turned out to be a very pleasant stay.
Located in the small village of Peat Inn, about a 15-minute drive from St Andrews, the setting is peaceful and rural ? perfect for a quiet escape. The concept is simple yet refined: a Michelin-starred restaurant with eight modern, beautifully appointed rooms just next door. We booked a package that included dinner at the restaurant and an overnight stay ? and we?d absolutely recommend doing the same.
Our room was split over two levels: a cosy living space upstairs with a sofa, TV and dining table, and downstairs a quiet bedroom and a spacious, modern bathroom. The room overlooked a lovely garden with seating areas, which we made use of thanks to the sunny weather. Everything felt thoughtfully designed and high quality ? from the bedding (great sleep!) to the bathroom, stocked with toiletries from the brand Arran (shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and shower gel).
When we arrived (a bit earlier than planned ? check-in was flexible), we found everything ready for us. A few brownies, a decanter of sherry, and ? as part of our booked package ? a chilled bottle of champagne in an ice bucket were waiting in the room. A lovely touch that set the tone for a very relaxing stay. We sat outside in the sun with our glasses and felt immediately at ease.
There?s no shared dining space for breakfast; instead, you fill out a small form at check-in to choose what you?d like and when. Right on time the next morning, two friendly members of staff delivered our breakfast to the room: fresh sourdough toast, a croissant, a selection of jams and honey, a smoothie, coffee, a soft-boiled egg, and Bircher muesli with fresh fruit. All served at our table upstairs. For those wanting something heartier, there?s also local cheese and smoked salmon available.
Dinner at the restaurant was a wonderful experience, too. We started with a drink in the lounge ? cocktails and a broad selection of wines and champagnes are available ? before being shown to our table with a view of the garden. We had the six-course tasting menu, adjusted pescetarian for one of us. Every dish was beautifully prepared and presented, with a clear emphasis on local produce. Fish, wild game, and seasonal ingredients were at the heart of the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, never stiff, and the service was warm and attentive throughout.
There?s plenty of choice for drinks: wine pairings (standard or premium), individual wines, cocktails, beer and cider ? so guests are free to tailor the evening to their own preferences.
Parking is easy and available right outside. The booking process was smooth ? we reserved directly through their website, where package options are clearly laid out. It?s worth noting you can also dine at the restaurant without staying overnight.
In summary, The Peat Inn combines fine dining with quiet luxury in a countryside setting. It?s not overdone or flashy, just carefully considered hospitality with a lot of heart. A place we?d happily return to.
