I knew the zoo was going to be small? I didn?t anticipate quite just how small. Had I not had my toddler, we would have been done within a matter of minutes.I get that they?ve had a fire and are trying to reestablish themselves but after 2, nearly 3 years there doesn?t seem to have been any progress. There?s a lot of waste land around the area. The armadillo enclosure has nails sticking out of the fence, so had to keep my toddler well back. The bird enclosure had signs up asking us to disinfect our shoes but the mats were bone dry, with the big tub of disinfectant sat dusty in a corner. It just didn?t feel like a lot of love or care has been put into this ?zoo?. Maybe my expectations are too high when places like five sisters were able to bounce back from their fire so quickly and not lose that welcoming vibe.I?d have been pretty mad had I spent more than a tenner on entry, but even at that, it didn?t feel worth the £10 I paid :(Me as an adult, did not enjoy however, my toddler loved it. She just really loves seeing animals. We ended up leaving & going to the deer park which is a short drive down the road.

Really disappointing visit to Fife Zoo today with my 4 year old son. I understand the zoo is in its infancy and working to re-establish after a long closure, new owners and a fire. The zoo is small with a nice selection of animals and easy to get round. We were 2 of only 4 visitors, and whilst I appreciate the staff/owners have work to do, I felt a real lack of any attempt to engage with us as customers.I'd have hoped with it being so quiet that there might have been some information about the journey so far, future plans and really trying to sell the vision for the zoo as a future destination. As it was we could have left after around 15 minutes and managed to stretch out visit to 1 hour. The enclosures were quite dirty and everything was a little tired. There were signs of work being carried out and I do wish the team well.Sadly I can not see a situation where I would ever consider visiting again, simply because I did not feel that my custom was valued or appreciated

Now if you are looking for a massive place with lots of animals then this place isn't for you. This is a taster zoo with a small amount of animals, but they are in beautiful enclosures and gives you an idea what the place will develop into given the chance. These are important projects to support if you can and smaller children will love it. The is also a veggie/vegan cafe with tasty food.Almost next door is a nature reserve with a good car park and beautiful circular walk that would enhance your visit to the area ?.

Fife zoo is a quirky and interesting place to visit if you have some spare time. The most important factor is aligning your expectations before your visit. This is not a large, capital city style zoo that takes all day or more to see all of. It is a small town offering, providing refuge to some interesting animals. The zoo is a relatively new venture, and is looking to expand as years go by. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the onsite cafe was tasty and reasonably priced. There is also merchandise available to buy, mainly focused at younger guests. All in all, we (parents + 2 year old) spent around 90 mins- 2 hours. Worth the entry fee, and will return in future to support a local cause!

What a waste of money, hardly any animals there and well overpriced, won't be back

Visited Fife Zoo today with my 1-year old son.The owner was doing the rounds with food and met us with great hospitality, he was friendly, informative and most of all passionate.Explained a little bit about the history of the zoo having started just before the pandemic, the owner kept the place alive and well kept despite the struggles that came with lockdown. After a devastating fire, the Zoo continues to grow and the owners passion is not at all tainted.I will definitely be back in the summer time and again just to support this passion project.Well done fife zoo.The food at the cafe was great and the homemade crisps were divine. The ring-tailed Lamur walk through is definitely the highlight of our visit :)

Disappointing, not many animals and due to very cold weather didn't come out their enclosure.Main building badly needing renovated, it's grotty and very untidy and shop not enough goods for kids to choose.Having said that cafe was a pleasure, food good and did appreciate hot drink on such a cold day.

A nice small zoo. It doesn't take very long to get round but going round, getting something at the cafe or having a picnic and then seeing any favourites again is a great way to spend a couple of hours. The lemur walkthrough and the aviary are a highlight, and the staff can't be faulted.

Very limited wildlife to see for the price. All animals looked well cared for but wouldn't spend that again in comparison to other zoos, only a few pounds more expensive. Cafe service was very slow and expensive too. The poor girl serving in the cafe was also having to abandon that to serve at the ticket counter. Take your own picnic and only expect a short visit. Saw everything within much less than an hour. And the advertised January offer does not apply to the whole of January. Misleading.

Nice wee zoo. Didn't take long to get round it but it was very reasonably priced so didn't matter. If the weather had been better we could have stayed all day if we'd wanted to. But it was freezing and rainy so we just sped round and then had lunch. Had a toastie and it was delicious. Only saw one member of staff who seemed to be holding the fort by being receptionist, ticket sales person, gift-shop assistant, waitress and cafe assistant. She was lovely. Long drive to get here but worth it. There is also a wee play park if you have youngsters with you.

Great wee zoo. Don't go expecting to see tonnes of animals but the price to get in more than reflects this. The staff are all incredibly friendly and the cafe is also really good. We just had a cuppa and a cake but it was lovely.A great day out for anyone that likes wildlife and cakes.

Whilst only a small zoo (as expected based on their website etc.) We still spent nearly an hour here, and as we were quite late on a weekday we had the place to ourselves to have a good look around.Enjoyed the Lemur walkthrough and getting close to them, as well as being so close to the Zebras. Bird walk through was a nice area too. Didn't manage to find the armadillo or porcupine as given the weather they were hiding inside in the warmth!Obviously this small, independent family run zoo is relatively new and still building itself up, with a couple of fires as well as COVID not helping, but the animals all looked happy and had plenty of space, so if people continue to support them they'll be able to continue and build on their early success.

A little run down bit our Granddaughter loved it. Aviary was open this time. The Lemur's were out too. Up close! And the Xebra's came down to feed. Lovely food in the cafe.

Absolutely fantastic independent, family owned zoo. Owners are lovely and easy to talk to.Went for the Meet the Lemurs experience as a belated birthday present and it was well worth the wait. Will definitely return and recommend it to anyone and everyone.

We had a super time here today at this wee gem. We knew when we came 'wee' would be the word but we were happy to support this place. Its an independent run zoo which is self funded. It was a rare treat to go into the lemuar enclosure and get close to them.We didn't go to the cafe this time but will definitely be back again. We wish this place all the best and look forward to see it grow.We went on a weekday in the morning and it was a good time to go.Toilets were immaculate and staff friendly.
