I was not impressed here. The starters were fine, though they didn't have what I wanted to order. That's fine. It's normal for a restaurant to run out of things. Our main courses were the burger and the spicy beef salad. The beef on both was cooked to the point of inedibility. I took enough bites to not feel extremely hungry then I stopped eating. When I went to the bathroom my half eaten plate disappeared. My companion ate everything off the burger except for the meat because his knife bounced off the meat.
I finished my glass of water in the first 10 minutes we were there and I tried to catch peoples eyes to get more. They assertively avoided eye contact.
When we asked for the bill we sat there for another good 15 minutes. When I got up to start walking towards the register *then* someone ran to me with the bill.
All in all I am terribly underwhelmed and sad. This restaurant is quite convenient near my friend's home and if it had been good we would go there more often. Unfortunately it isn't. I'll just stay home and cook. My food is better and costs less.

Horrible bar Horrible staff. I'm a neighbour who lives nearby. They think they have the right to police passers by who don't even set foot in the door it hilarious. Don't believe the fake reviews they're haters in this bar. They start out friendly enough though till the have you lured in.

Came across The Blacksmiths by chance. Met by a very cheerful and pleasant lass behind the Bar who showed us where to be and sorted our orders out.
Food was hot and tasty.
Fairly quite tonight.
Place was clean and tidy.
A very pleasant value for money pub.

Called in for lunch. We are not easy to cater for as my husband is wheat-free and I am veggie. But the barman was very helpful to make sure my husband in particular had no problems. There were quite a few dishes we could choose from and what we had was very tasty.
Useful having light meals as well as full meals as we don't have huge appetites.
Will go again.

It's kind of meh. Nothing really stands out about it it's just an alternative place to eat/drink & watch the telly if you dont want to be sitting at home. It's very clean and has a disabled toilet which is a plus. No jukebox and it doesn't host any live music events though.
