Not as good as it used to be.....sad to see staff turn away a family with a small child asking if they could use the toilet when the cafe was almost empty, limited choice of baking though the items available were excellent. Nice to have tea served in a

We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed excellent service during our lunch stop. The pub has a comfortable and cosy interior and when the sun shines a beer garden at the back and seating in the sun at the front. The menu is not extensive but everything was really good and the range of beers has something for any beer drinker. Much of the food was homemade and prepared with care. If you find yourself in this relaxing and charming community then the pub (now renamed the Fishertown Inn) is well worth a visit.

Olde world atmosphere about the place, we thought the toasted sandwiches where very basic and overpriced, although there was a bit of salad on the side, good coffee. Friendly staff.

Now the Fishertown Inn. Called in to this pub for a quick drink whilst visiting Cromarty. What a find! Welcoming pub with good selection of beers and friendly barman. Noticed the food menu and decided to stay for dinner. An excellent decision. We had the wonderful vegan mushroom pie with olive mash and interesting homemade pickles followed by delicious homemade Bailey's cheesecake. The menu is small but has something for everyone ( vegan, vegetarian, meat, gluten free) and a lot of thought has obviously gone into it. The food is clearly of good quality and freshly cooked with care, not mass-produced, microwaved fare. Amazingly it is also very reasonably priced. We spoke to the new owner who explained they had only been open seven weeks. With pubs under a lot of pressure, really hope this one succeeds and is here on our next visit to Cromarty. Wish our local pub was half as good!

The Cromarty Cafe is a rather charming place, with real character. It's brightly decorated in yellow, it has a fireplace on one wall, with a leather sofa in front of it.We called in for coffee on a visit to Cromarty and the cafe added to the visit. The coffee wasn't the best I've had, in fact I had to add sugar to make it palatable. That said, my wife enjoyed her latte.

On a recent visit to my hometown, a friend and I took the opportunity to try the Cromarty Cafe. We each had the Cranachan sponge cake and a plain white coffee. The cake was delicious and the portions substantial. I'm not normally a coffee drinker but I'd say it was mediocre at best. The Cafe has a nice rustic feel to it and the surroundings are cosy and pleasant. It wasn't too busy but I assume there is a steady stream of visitors during the tourist season, as Cromarty has always been a popular Black Isle tourist town!I found the menu a little pretentious not to mention pricey, (£11.00 for 2 x coffee & cake!) But I assume there is still a decent local customer base that helps keep it going. The service was adequate and efficient enough, although their system of asking the customers where they would be sitting whilst ordering, seemed a little unusual. And the staff were sorely lacking in the cheerful department I'm afraid. The younger girls certainly appeared to carry out their waiting duties efficiently, but we were served by a rather humourless older lady and the gentleman whom we took perhaps to be the proprietor, was equally dour. All in all, I'd say improvements could be made but the Cromarty Cafe provides a well rounded appeal perhaps expected from a small tourist-centric coastal town.
