Went for lunch and drinks here while on a whisky tour - it was possibly the highlight of my trip. I could've spent days here! Enjoyed the food, a great whisky selection and the staff were brilliant. Felt like the kind of place where locals and tourists drink happily side by side. Oh, and they look after their cask ales here, which I couldn't say about all of the other venues... Definitely a spot to seek out.

Only visited the bar, didn't stay at Inn. But Highlander Inn has an amazing bar. It is clear that staff really takes their job seriously, and they deeply care about the experience of selecting the right whisky. I had a Mekle Tour and the Balvenie - both new ones I had never tried, but carefully selected from a description of previous tasting experience.

Lovely atmosphere and a warm welcome from the staff. They have a huge selection of whiskies and the food is delicious, can?t fault it. Definitely recommend.

I'd give the Highlander Six Stars, if I could! I've visited the Highlander in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2016, and 2025 and absolutely love everything about it. The lovely little rooms, delicious restaurant, unbeatable whisky selection, and incredibly knowledgeable bar tenders.

Great relaxed vibe, friendly surat, and delicious food! Tried the sweet potato & coconut chili (so deliciously creamy!), hubby had the venison & black sausage burger, I had the tried and true steak & ale pie. Enjoyable and cozy and worth the stop!
