On our way back from Inverness to Luton, we stopped for a lunch break at a restaurant. It was a nice, clean, and cozy place with very tidy washrooms. They offered a buffet lunch for £15 per person, which featured a wide variety of non-vegetarian options, a little less numbers of vegetarian options, but an impressive selection of delicious desserts.
Although the number of vegetarian options was limited compared to the non-vegetarian choices, the service was excellent. We were able to request a dish that wasn't on the menu, and the chef kindly prepared Kadhai paneer for us.
A few vegetarian options I remember included poppadoms, fries, noodles, naan, mixed vegetables, pakoras, and salads. I would definitely recommend this place!

We?ve been coming almost every week for nearly five years and only now leaving a review. I have to say in all the time we?ve been here we?ve never left disappointed. The best service, amazing staff, fabulous food and the warmest welcome. It?s difficult to keep up such high standards, but these guys manage it and best themselves regularly! Thanks guys! See you soon ?

Lovely place - very friendly staff and great food. Quick service, nice and clean with plenty of space between tables so moving back and forward to the buffet is easy. Lots of food options and nice desserts.

I love going to the Shimla for something to eat as the buffet is always well stocked up and tastes amazing, so much to choose from for different tastes. Staff are always so friendly and helpful while also making it a warm friendly atmosphere

Unfortunately I ordered a delivery from said, I have been ill and the delivery driver made me come out to the hight street. In my pyjamas. Then when he still said can?t find you (been here 40 years) he told me he ?didn?t have time for this? and hung up. I am absolutely disgusted at this. Food good or not good the delivery was hellish . I hope if you order from Shimla you don?t experience what I did . I only hope when I called the manager he will let this so called delivery person know this is disgraceful

Disappointing Experience at Shimla Palace
I visited Shimla Palace today with high expectations, but unfortunately, the quality of both the food and service has declined significantly. The food was not prepared in a timely manner, and we found ourselves waiting multiple times for dishes to be replenished. When the food did arrive, the chicken was extremely dry, making it difficult to enjoy. To make matters worse, the cakes were still frozen in the middle?completely unacceptable for a restaurant of this standard.
Another issue worth mentioning is their ?kids eat free? promotion. This only applies after 3 PM, at which point the adult prices are higher, meaning it?s more of a marketing gimmick than a real deal. It feels misleading and takes away from the value of dining here.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn?t rush back. Hopefully, they can improve their food quality and service in the future.

Ingredient selection was meticulous and elegant, and prepared beautifully. The presentation and quality of the dishes was exceptional, and the service was attentive, informative, and kind. Great value for the quality of food, service, and Highly Recommended.
