We have stayed here the past three nights due to the ferry to Orkney being cancelled last minute and it's been nothing but great!Staff are all lovely and couldn't have helped us out more due to the circumstances.The whole hotel is spotless and and the food was amazing, huge compliments to the housekeeping and kitchen staff.Hope to visit again on our next journey up!Alana & Amanda

Absolutely fantastic food, what a surprise we got going in here it's clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Made for a lovely meal experience and the food was unreal. Will definitely return.

Stayed on a tour of the highlands,its a fine hotel with good rooms,it was clean and comfortable.The food we had was delicious and breakfast was a gem(best porridge ive eaten)all in all a good stay though a little entertainment on a evening woud'nt be a miss.

What a lovely hotel! Very welcoming, very much recommended. Stopped here on way to Orkney.Noteworthy details: Dog friendly. They left dog treats in room aa a welcome. Lovely.

The Castle Hotel is very unassuming from the outside however, open the doors, walk in and it is warm, welcoming, clean and smart. We had a lovely stay, our room (10) on the first floor was spotless and fresh, upon arrival a table was ready for us in the restaurant and food was good and tasty, served with smiles. The staff team were friendly, happy to recommend places in the locality to visit, we felt comfortable. Had 2 great nights sleep, breakfast was fabulous, buffet style but promoting local food. The hotel was busy, on both nights there, a coach tour was also staying, the hotel is well used by locals as well as tourists and business stays. Very handy for Ferries to Orkney. Ample parking and access from the rear garden area, accessible facilities also. Castletown is between John O?Groats and Thurso, scenery around the coast is fabulous, beaches are stunning. The staff here are all so welcoming even though the hotel is busy, we would stay here again.

Visited on a Saturday night with husband and 2 teenagers Warm welcome when we arrived The food was beautiful, we had a mixture of steaks and chicken from the menu all were really well cooked and we will most definitely return for another great meal The service was fantastic 5*!

A wonderful place. My first reaction was just how clean it was.it?s as convenient as a premier inn but it?s so much more welcoming than any 5* hotel.Staff are super friendly and helpful, beds were very comfy.Food is incredible in both quantity and quality. I had scallops followed by fish and chips (and yes that?s 2 pieces of fish!!!)The breakfast buffet matches everything else. An absolute gemI highly recommend this placeRooms: Functional and clean, clean, cleanNearby activities: Cultural centre is just a short walk down the road by the beach. There?s a spar next door if you need anythingFood & drinks: Amazing quality, lots of it at a great price

Nice reception . Bar , restaurant , bedroom a bit dated but everything worked other than missing handle on window , need descent shower products and only 1 large towel between 2 , we had a meal for 4 , 2 fish supper had been under heater far to long , dried out , the vegetables with sauce was disappointing , a few carrot strips , onion , pepper , aubergine soaked in a bowl , not very nice so was left , soup was not as advertised, not sure what it was meant to be , breakfast was good but problem with toaster , had a power out as well but not a problem , staff were nice
