“The Market Inn Hotel hosted a dinner and drinks to celebrate our wedding in July and they really went above and beyond! Nothing was too much trouble, even when I was changing my mind every five minutes, and although we were only looking for something simple, the extra little details that the team incorporated onto the tables just made it extra sprcial. We've been going to the Market Inn most weeks to play some pool and have a couple of drinks and all of the staff and owners are so friendly and welcoming, plus the food is delicious.Walkability: Set within the town centre, easy walking distance to local attractionsFood & drinks: Delicious food, great portions and cocktails are really nice”

“We stopped here for dinner and were really impressed by the quality of food and standard of service on offer. We arrived before the evening menu start time but expressed our interest in the food. Our waiter, Matthew was very proactive and was out to take our order well before start time so we got our food as soon as the kitchen re-opened. The lady on the bar was very friendly and the whole place had a very positive atmosphere. Another lady (presumably the landlady) fell victim to the charm of one of our collies and fetched some steak for her which was a really nice thing to do, she seemed very keen to welcome locals and visitors like ourselves in addition to serving and clearing.I'm pleased to see as I look through other reviews that this pubs staff and management have previously been recognised for their efforts.Food & drinks: Brilliant quality, very tasty, nicely presented and very reasonable prices.”

“This hotel is perfect for the centre of Dumfries! I have only given it 4 stars due to check in procedure because otherwise everything was 5 star! Was there for the BritishCycling Road Race which ran through the town! Staff were amazing- showing the race on TV in two of the lounges and providing tea and coffee!”
