Great hotel, very welcoming and well located to walk into Castle Douglas and indeed to explore the locality. Rooms are good value, well equipped and spotless.I'd strongly advise eating in the restaurant, cozy atmosphere and the food is excellent.

Very friendly owner and staff. Lovely location. Dinner was delicious. The lounge area was lovely and cosy with a log burner. Lots of atmosphere. We relaxed by the log burner with a gin and tonic and read our books. We understand this is a work in progress. Our room was nice but still needs attention.We would definitely come back.

Lovely welcoming stay at Ernespie.Room nice & cosy ..Deco fresh ..Bed so comfy I slept in for B/fast but not a problem Lucky for me Shawshank was at hand and made me a B/fast butty ..Good selection of evening meal on the menue ..Location nice handy to explore Dumfries & Galloway areaRooms: Rooms are cosy & cleanFood & drinks: Fabulous selection on the menu for food & drinks ..in a cosy dining Room with Log burner also comfy sofa's ..

We had a wonderful time at Ernespie House which is a very Scottish warm establishment. The staff were not only friendly but also helpful and attentive. I encourage you to stay for dinner to try the Haggis Scotch Egg! The Junior Suite was big and clean, with a large comfy bed. Hope to come back soon!

Gorgeous hotel located within a golf course, the grounds are vast and beautiful with a long driveway, really nice location and hotel.Rooms: My room was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking the gardens and a small playground, also has a lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi. The building is old and beautiful and the location is top notch!

Didn't stay overnight so don't know about the rooms. I was there for a function. Food is good, staff friendly and easy to park.

Superb level of service and accommodation in very pleasant surroundings. The staff were all very helpful, courteous and professional, a credit to the hotel. Several options for breakfast including a substantial full Scottish including obligatory potato scone and haggis, delicious ? First class dinner menu with plenty of variety and specials board. Could maybe do with a couple more options for vegetarians, but my good lady said the risotto was "the best risotto I've ever had" and the chef was happy to make a vegetable curry which wasn't on the menu so service was first class. Magnificent steak and ale pie. All very reasonably priced and worth every penny. A very enjoyable stay

Lovely location, greeted warmly by the owner. Room was lovely, shower and bathroom was spacious. Quaint, beamed lounge area and airy breakfast room/bar. Food was varied and tasty..nothing was too much trouble for the friendly, hard-working staff. We would definitely visit again.

Had our wedding reception here amazing doesn?t cut it staff were brilliant food was divine and rooms beautiful couldn?t fault anything at all. Owner was always very helpful and always happy to help us make our day perfect

Exceptional and friendly service from everyone at Ernespie House Hotel. The hotel is in a beautiful, scenic location just outside of town. Rooms were very comfortable. Highly recommend eating in the restaurant and make sure you leave room for dessert. Good value for money with breakfast included. I can't speak highly enough of the service we were provided. They were knowledgeable of the area, even providing recommendations about where to eat (with a non fussy little one)in town or activities to do in the area.

What a great eating place... The food menu cover everytaste possible from Currys, to UK style foods, and even ethnic cuisine. That along with the afternoon tea we saw and even the lite bite option, I can fault what we had.fish gyros, Mac cheese, soup, few side extras x3 and drinks and coffees under £50 for lunch amazing value. Set in a beautiful place that you could sit in forever.

Had a great stay and the staff were very welcoming. Was a good range of food on the menu and the Indian food was cooked perfectly. Was also a really good location and will definitely be back in the future.

We stayed at this amazing family run countryside hotel for a weekend getaway. It is all the things you need for a chilled holiday at only one stop. Warm environment with welcoming owners, supportive staff and a 360 degree lovely views which you cannot get enough off. The most delicious food one can ever have. Would highly recommend having dinner at the hotel while your stay. Should definitely stay at the Ernespie house hotel when in Castle Douglas.
