Very helpful, friendly branch, managed to sort everything I needed to do while also accommodating my dog which many places don't. Highly recommended this branch.Slight disappointment that my new card doesn't have the calanish stones on them though...

I am a member of Halifax and went to Bank of Scotland, Castle Douglas to close an account. The lady who dealt with my enquiry went above and beyond to assist. She was professional, polite and knowledgeable, as well as being friendly (which makes all the difference). I have limited experience with this bank, but based on how my enquiry was dealt with, would highly recommend this branch.

I would to say be extremely careful.when depositing money in Payin Machine as I was depositing money in Bank of Scotland Argyle street Glasgow.The machine Broke down only paying part of my money. Ahmed assured myself it would be paid into my account next day which it was'nt I contacted The Branch and Kirsty called myself back but kept saying I can't hear cutting me off.I contacted Complaints department.Which Nic investigated this Fraudlent issue in a morning.And being very un professional as Nic sent a Text.I thought the Ahmed Kirsty and Nic would know the Bank.of Scotland mission statement which is By Your Side.They never were only by each others side Fraudlently. I just had Major Brain Surgery I had Tumour partially removed and on Chemo.I think they seem very ignorant about Disabilities as not all Disabilities are visible. They should have training in being Assertive and not Aggressive.This has caused extreme Anxiety and Stress as I'm worried about how my family would pay for my Funeral etc.My Consultant has been excellent .I am still awaiting reply.As someone or more has my money.

This is a complaint about the helpline rather than the bank itself. I phoned to cancel a card due to a problem, and instead of saying the card in question was now invalid ( an account I don't use a card for) they closed down my main account!!! This could have been avoided and saved me the humiliation of having my card rejected whist shopping.

Lady depositing my Cheque not polite . Very stern and blunt when replying to my enquirys.
She (Val) needs to go on a customer service course. I was polite to her so would certainly expect the same back . Other people can manage it , evening if having a bad day. If you can't manage this then maybe a career change is needed. All other Bank of Scotland I have visited are wonderful.
