Absolutely Fabulous Food!We visited for food on our trip to the area, and were greeted by a beautiful reception area, and smiling staff.Unlike most restaurants, there?s plenty space between tables, which gives you some privacy for either a romantic evening, or just so you can hear your guests speak without raising your voice.The food was the best we have tasted this year, the freshest fish, chicken, and salad, with perfectly cooked chips, and not a spot of grease.Deserts looked small, but were absolutely the perfect size. The taste of the Eaton-Mess was just exquisite, with the cheese cake in the same category.There?s a huge range of whisky, gin, & even Scottish rum available. Just a pitty we were both driving early tomorrow.Booking advised, since people obviously travel from around the peninsula to eat here, and I would definitely travel 50mls or so just for the food.2 courses for 2 + drinks = £55, which is pretty good value these days.DEFINITELY RECOMMENDEDFood & drinks: Set price for 1 & 2 course meals, with a huge range of well priced Scottish rum, gin & whisky.

We had a perfect dinner whith a stunning view on the atlantic ocean. The staff at Argyll Hotel was very friendly and the food is fresh and tasty. (Leave some space for the delicious desserts!). Also the breakfast was extraordinary whith vegan and glutenfree options. Our room was very clean and well equiped.

Only problem I had was, I was unable to log in to internet.But other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.Staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was exceptional, and the location was out of this world.

I stayed here for three nights at the end of July and had a great time. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable and the staff were welcoming. The breakfast choice was vast with something for everyone. There was a good selection of homemade jams and marmalades on a side table. The dining room overlooks the sea and beach and there are local handicrafts for sale on display. (I was unable to resist purchasing a handpainted highland coo on a slate heart.) The evening menu is a set price for a two course meal, again with a reasonable choice. The gin and whisky list has to be seen to be believed!! All in all, I would recommend this hotel.

Lovely stay. The hotel is really well run and at the same time relaxed, warm and friendly. Nick, Iain and the team look after their guests above and beyond. Genuinely excellent service in a truly beautiful setting. All that and fabulous breakfasts too. We?ll be back whenever we can.

Lovely staff and owners but the dogs are the stars, and they welcome their canine visitors, of which there are many, with just as much enthusiasm. Rooms very good and comfortable, with brilliant, stylish bathrooms. Food excellent and plentiful with many interesting choices, well-presented. The gin and malt menus are long and interesting. We would happily return and walk again along the beautiful beach.

The Argyll Hotel has an amazing location directly on the beach, and the main dining room area has great views of the ocean from all of the tables. Both dinner and breakfast had a wide variety of options with creative, delicious and well-presented options. Dinner reservations are a must! It's not near much else so it's hard to explore without a car. You can access the beach from the back door. We had a view of the beach from our room, though it looks like most rooms do not. The room was comfortable with all of the modern conveniences and a comfortable bed. The hosts were quite friendly, as were the hosts' dalmatian dogs.

Fantastic stay at the Argyll, with the warmest of welcomes. We had a beautiful room looking out over the beach and a very warm welcome. There is an excellent range of local single malt whiskies the food is great. We also loved the paintings, sculptures and other pieces of art available in the lounge area. We can?t wait to come back.

Nice and friendly little hotel just North of Campletown beside the main road( which isn't busyand you don't notic what traffic there is). Good Pub grub, very reasonaby priced with great staff and fabulous view out to Islay and Jura. Rooms are small but perfectly adequate and the Dining room and the Terrace are right beside the beach.
