Booked a surprise weekend away for me and my fiancé, we were staying in a beautiful guest house about 10 minutes away from the goil inn, i had previously messaged our host to ask for recommendations for somewhere nice to eat on the sunday evening, (10/08/25) (we arrived on the Saturday) when the goil inn was mentioned, i instantly checked their menu and messaged them to request a booking! The views of the loch were stunning, the food was delicious and the service was superb, a brilliant recommendation! We both had 'The Goil Steak Pie' for main, delicious!! ? followed by Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and the apple and cinnamon crumble with custard, both gorgeous desserts! Prices were VERY reasonable and you were made to feel very welcome ! 5* thank you ! We will definitely return again if we visit this part of scotland again in the future ??

Nice pub, very busy. We had the small fish and chips. They were average. More batter than actual fish but it was hot and we were hungry so filled a whole. Chips an peas were nice.

What a disappointment!
The waitress was unwelcoming, brash, rushed and quite frankly rude.
The food was something I would throw together, at the last minute at home, albeit with some sauces dressing it. Dried veg bits in cous cous is surely unacceptable for a restaurant with inflated price.
From someone who is also in hospitality, I can assure you that my staff would have better training and serious words if they treated any of our customers in this manor.
Overall a poor show

Lovely pub in a very idyllic setting. Didn't get a chance to grab any food but based on what other people were getting it looked very nice. Worth a visit if you are in lochgoilhead.

Nice welcoming experience, just what we need on a rainy day! Finest negroni in the village, good few cocktails on offer and the location looks over the loch, stunning views, friendly staff and good scran! Would recommend

Food was so tasty. We came here for lunch.
I had the home made corned beef sandwich ?. Really fresh and truly home made. Then the raspberry and whiskey cheesecake, the sorbet that came with it tasted so fresh! I'm not usually a fan of sorbet but this was so tangy and perfect. Service was quick and friendly. There's seats outside if the weather is nice.

We had dinners on 3 evenings and were very pleased with our meals including a steak with usual fare. The staff were friendly and attentive. The Goil was very dog friendly. I would recommend it to others.
