Great little selection of all the basics, including off-license, some souvenirs, and even some local handmade items.
The cafe downstairs is also great!
Had no problem with please or thank you, everyone was nice enough!

Excellent selection of grocery items which speaking as a foreigner is all one needs for a week in tayvallich.

Foreign shop assistant sold me the things I wanted to buy and didn't waste time with pointless small talk. Welcome to Scotland.

The cafe is in a beautiful spot but that's really all it has going for it. The staff seem unable to cope when it's busy and it was a long time before we were served a watery hot chocolate. They're lucky they are the only place in town.

We loved the old-fashioned general store and the wonderful view from the cafe terrace. We had tasty soup and bread for lunch; not cheap but higher prices are to be expected in out-of-the-way places like this. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Had a lovely lunch after a horrible experience at the Tayvallich Inn. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely (need to know where they got their plates!) and the setting was beautiful!

Fantastic little general store - great produce displayed with care and attention and very friendly owners. The coffee shop attached has the best view ever but we were slightly disappointed that the food and service was not up to previous exceptional standards. Is a gem of a place though and really hope it gets its mojo back as we love it.

Nice little cafe with great views of Tayvallich harbour. However, you are paying for the view really. Over £20 for 2 cheese and bacon toasties and 2 cans of coke is too expensive even with the view. So only gets an average score therefore

This cafe is good and serves nice food with one the best views around over the bay. However, I have been going to the cafe for years and it is now just good whereas it used be fantastic. The menu is more limited although nice and the patio has lost the hanging baskets etc that made it look special.

This is a beautiful spot. Stopped for breakfast which was awesome and sat admiring the fantastic view. Dogs welcome on outside tables. Really friendly staff, tasty food and great cakes. Highly recommended

So we ordered 2 soups (x1 Mushroom and x1 Vegetable) ? they were absolutely flaming excellent , the bread was delicious too ? followed by a couple of Latte?s and CheeseCake . I always think you can tell a good coffee shop from it?s quality of coffee and this was excellent ? and the CheeseCake ? was suuuuuuuperb ! Staff were courteous , very pleasant and genuinely charming ? Will be back for breakfast within a few days

I suspect the only reason they?re still there is the monopoly they have! I was there on holiday in the village and popped up for a coffee and bacon butty! Yes the setting is nice but it?s phenomenally expensive for a badly made coffee (heat milk for longer guys) and a dry and average bacon butty. The staff really don?t come across as enjoying themselves at all!
