A massively impressive business.
Okay here's the thing. Myself and my daughter have been holidaying on Arran for the week. I am sick and tired of hipster businesses that must have followed the AirBnB takeover with locals selling up.
On three occasions I've planned to go to a place for us to eat the following day only to find that it's only open Thursday to Sunday (Thai restaurant), doesn't do pizza on a Wednesday, is closed on a Monday (bakery).
What I love about LRC&WD is it's always been open. It's bang in the centre of town and could have churned out any crap and made a profit but the food is fabulous with plenty of healthy options but also fry ups if that's your things.
Serving sizes are decent, service is fast and friendly despite the size of the place. For a place this size to be so well run is remarkable. It's really really impressive.
Minor quibble - your espresso needs to be ground finer as it's a bit thin.
Staff deserve a huge pat on the back and management should feel very proud of what's being done.
A remarkable place. The best in Arran by some distance.

Dog friendly but carpet very dirty and full of dog hair in that section.

Went for breakfast. Quick , efficient and friendly staff. Order was taken quickly,we both had the full breakfast,and it was brought to our table quickly. All the ingredients were excellent quality and tasted wonderful. Would definitely recommend this cafe.

Really nice veggie breakfast (other good food is available too!), friendly staff and generally a nice easy going cafe.
Edit: have been back a few times since original review 5 years ago, still providing a decent service, had a nice grilled halloumi salad recently, normal wait time, friendly service.

We love the Little Rock for our weekly lunch treat. The staff are first class and the food equally so. Customers with wheelchair s, prams, and or dogs are all welcome making the atmosphere one of the best one the island .
