Had another fabulous meal at Shimla Cottage. Food was so delicious! And the staff are always really friendly and add a personal touch to the experience. We?re so lucky to have such a lovely restaurant on our doorstep. ??????????

What a very disappointing experience, ordered a collection for here 14th September 2024. 2 curries, 2 rice, a garlic nann, chicken pakora and a vegetable pakora, quoted £49, question the price, ?oh so sorry I miscalculated ? price now £42. Miserable amount of chicken in curries, 4 small pieces of thigh in one, 6 in the other, containers only 3/4 full, batter basically crumbled on small portions of pakoras as soon as picked up, nann was obviously reheated in microwave as tough and chewy .

Ordered lamb and okra curry as a takeaway. It was exceptional - large chunks of lean slow cooked lamb, plenty of okra and moreish to taste. I've not found a better lamb and okra curry anywhere else.

Avoid ? just had a delivery ! Waste of time ? nearly an hour for it to arrive ? order was short delivered !! We ended up with garlic nan a basic sauce with no meat !! or veg!!! one currry with meat which you had to scrap to find the meat !! Very little meat !!! Sauce full of oil
, mixed pakora!! 4 can of sprite !! 45 quid !! 5 quid tip !!!ROTTEN IS THE WORD FOR THIS PLACE !!

Wishing to meet up with my friend's sister left it up to her to decide wherever wished to go. Here! Was a great choice. As soon as we walked through the door we were made to feel so welcomed. That kinda feeling that you receive from a family run establishment. We chose from the 'available on certain evenings' menu, which had sufficient ranges of curries to choose from. All meals were lovely and very tasty. With ice-cream and coffee to complete the evening. The manager was very attentive and also does enjoy a bit of banter. It's been decided that we will return. In the meantime wishing the family and staff to have a successful time to come.

Had a takeaway delivered. Extremely overpriced food. Food was mediocre, no better than most of the Indian restaurants around the area. Will absolutely not be ordering from here again. Feel ripped off.

Just back from a meal in this lovely restaurant. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and attentive. Food was amazing, good size portions with lots of flavour and the pakora sauce was the best we?ve had. Will definitely be back here.

This is the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. The staff are wonderful and know the food inside out. The menu is excellent and the specials are out of this world too. If you've never been you're missing out, big time.

This is an example of how a restaurant should be run. As soon as you arrive you are greeted by friendly staff and shown to your table. You can take your time to browse the menu before ordering. The food arrived very fast and it was the best Indian meal I have experienced. Great food, extremely friendly staff and a nicely laid out, spotless restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful food, great service and pleasant atmosphere combined made this a pleasurable experience and would highly recommend a visit and will be back shortly to sample some more of there delicious food.. the family were welcoming and friendly and very helpful. Big thumbs up ??Parking: Free parking space just behind the coach house pub and not too far a walk..

Love this place. We (family and friends) have been coming here for many years. Always a warm welcome from Tabi and the Boss. Food is great and special mention for the homemade tablet.

We visited here 26th Dec 2023 with friends. Everything started off fine, Staff took the order and the food came. Food was actually nice. Then the bill came. Over charged by at least 10 percent. We asked for a menu to double check. Staff member (seemed to be the person in charge) clearly not happy with this, then told us that it was an 'old menu' but was not forthcoming with the 'new' menu. He the ln started ranting about 2 of our group sharing a main course (they did have a starter each) and one of our group having ordered 2 starters instead of a main course. The staff member then told us to pay what was listed in the menu, which we did. If this wasn't bad enough he then proceeded to try and insult us by taking the notes and leaving any of the pound coins on the table saying 'You need these more than me' I along with this group regularly eat out on restaurants and have done for a number of years. I have never came across this kind of behaviour from staff in any premises. A real.pitty because we did all agree that we would have returned in the future, obviously not now. Extremely ignorant man!
