Had evening meals only .
Extensive, tasty menu with Scottish specialities and good beer and wine choices.
Unpretentious but extensive andnicely presented meals. Friendly.
Menus merits repeated visits.
Not very busy nights we were there ,Saturday and Sunday . We were staying five minutes ' walk away .

Popped in for a quick drink. Nice location, clean and initially friendly staff.
Unfortunately I witnessed the staff being incredibly rude to guests checking in who struggled with their English and although they spoke a good level of English and even apologised for their language skills the staff member was incredibly rude, patronising, clearly frustrated and could have made things much clearer but clearly far too lazy to do so.
As a Scottish citizen this was incredibly shameful and embarrassing to witness as this is far from the warm and welcoming attitude we pride ourselves on as a nation. Staff should be ashamed and for this reason won't return and look to support other local hotels instead.

Went here for a meal and drinks after a nice walk next to the hotel. My partner and I both had the fish and chips. Whilst the fish was really nice with lovely crispy batter, the chips and peas were very disappointing. The chips were supposed to be triple cooked but were barely cooked. They tasted like cheap frozen oven chips that weren't cooked properly. The peas also tasted like cheap frozen peas. For the price I paid, I wasn't impressed. Wish I had actually complained at the time. The staff were really friendly and the hotel and location were good but i have given three stars for the quality of the food for the prices i was charged.
This is our 3rd visit here now. Friendly and welcoming staff. Nice touch with candles burning, I feel it always adds to the ambience of a place, even during the day. Lovely cosy sitting room for relaxation. Lovely dinner and sumptuous scottish breakfast (probably the best weve had and we've had many) , no faults there.
Nice and clean throughout. Clean fresh room. Lovely wee hotel and in a great location for touring around scenic Scotland. Riverside location where you can walk alongside. Feels like a home from home. Would highly recommend a wee stay here. Would look forward to staying again for sure.

Lovely little hotel, food was amazing. Rooms were clean and warm. Hotel staff were lovely and helpful. Would definitely return.

Great couple of days away in the cottage lodge
Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Food in the hotel was great and would recommend it.
Cottage had a bit of a musty smell, but that probably age and location, however it was really well decorated and furnished and wouldn't put us off booking again.

Stopped here for dinner on a Friday evening. Warm welcome from reception and first class service in the restaurant.
We had haddock morney and chicken fillet burger in panko crumbs with sides. The meal was one of the best we have had in a long time. Many compliments to the chef and staff.

What a place to stay host was brilliant rooms were lovely with big beds and food was 5 stars from anyone . Enjoy this place as a hub to explore the surroundings
