We arrived slightly after their kitchen had closed, but they said no problem and seated us anyway, making us very welcome. The husband (chef) and wife (front of house) team were friendly, the view is fantastic (we sat outside, taking advantage of the good weather), and the food was local and delicious. 100% recommend!

The food here was absolutely phenomenal! I had the lamb and it came out perfectly. Everything on the plate was delicious and complimented each other wonderfully. The service was excellent and we received our food in a perfectly timely manner. I also ordered the creme brulee for dessert, and this was utterly divine. Overall, a perfect place for a lovely meal. The decor was lovely and made you feel right at home. I strongly reccomend coming here for one of the best meals you're going to have.

There is a reason the Loft has been voted best restaurant in Scotland and featured in so many good food reviews. The food is sublime and the service friendly. Our party of four had an evening meal tonight. The duck was succulent and tender, My venison was cooked to perfection and well complemented by a rich cherry sauce. Two of our party had the cod loin, big flakes of cod perfectly cooked . All our vegetables were steamed to perfection. The servers were attentive and friendly as were the owners. I would heartedly recommend visiting the loft for a gastronomical delight. 6/8/25.

Great food, warm and friendly atmosphere. Authentic Scottish dishes with an emphasis on fresh produce and appetizing presentation. We had the venison, the stew, and a superb crème brûlée. We chatted with the owner who made us feel right at home.

Outstanding food: perfectly cooked venison, duck fillet, lamb, and sirloin?each dish full of rich, balanced flavors. Unfortunately, the bill listed items we never ordered, which soured an otherwise excellent meal. Great kitchen, but double?check your receipt

No vegan options so couldn't eat here. Any decent chef should be able to create vegan alternatives without too many issues. Really disappointing.
