Went in this morning got two takeaway breakfasts. Absolutely delicious. Very fresh. Excellent quality of food. Got two pieces of carrot cake which look delicious but too full to eat them yet. First time here but will definitely be back. Very friendly staff. Very clean. Lovely setting ??

In fairness I should have added that we have eaten in here before and had no complaints - with the service and food being pretty decent. In fact the service from the woman with the Eastern European (???) accent being particularly nice. Was probably just disappointed that the usual levels of service weren?t being maintained.
Difficult to rate the food and atmosphere when you are refused service. Went into the cafe for takeaway food at 3.05pm after checking on google it?s closing time - shown as 4pm. Told that it?s cakes and coffees only as the kitchen was closed. When I asked what time the kitchen closed I was told ?usually? 3.15 ?but the chef is tidying up and won?t do anymore food?.
Pretty poor customer service. Some place just get custom far too easily and stop trying.

I came on Friday the customer service was amazing food came quickly and was delicious . The staff especially Tanya are incredibly welcoming and attentive . I highly recommend Mays coffee shop .

Came for coffee and cake with husband and son. Told to take a seat but not told whether to order at table or counter. After ten minutes of being ready to order and no one coming we tried to order at the counter and was told they would come to the table. It took another good while for anyone to come over and take our order. Coffee and cake were fine but on service alone we won't be returning.

Got the Soup ,lovely wish I'd got another bowl ,crusty bread or mini roll would have been better than bland white bread ,Coffee good will be back ,menu quite varied .
