Absolutely brilliant dog friendly hotel set in the picturesque Leadhills a village with lots of history and great walks!! The customer service is 10/10, great food and dogs are really well catered for with a separate bar and dining room. Rooms are dog friendly and they get a welcome pack! Cannot recommend the Hopetoun Arms enough.Food & drinks: Excellent bar food options including a comprehensive vegan and vegetarian selection. At breakfast they could even provide dairy free options for milk and butter. Plus the dog was offered a sausage! Good selection of whisky in the bar!

Great pub, Lovely staff and excellent food. Stayed in the Carpark in the van and had a great meal. Haggis balls starter and Steak pie was amazing. Owners and staff were super friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

A gem of a place. Always a warm friendly welcome from the owners and staff. We are always looked after so well by everybody here. Cosy fires and atmosphere with interesting local history around the walls. Food is delicious, generous and well priced. Highly recommend this as a stop off close to the motorway to stay over or to eat.

We parked in our camper at the back where there is EHU at £5 per night. The food was delicious, hospitality excellent and we had a great weekend with them.

On arrival I was escorted to my room and was totally amazed at how nice the room was. Then I saw the bathroom and was blown away. I said that it?s a bit cold and within 10 minutes it was lovely and cosy. The only negative point I can make is the car park. There is no short cut to the hotel you have to walk all the way round.

A fantastic country hotel/ pub. Very welcoming.nice staff. We ate there 3 nights running. Every meal first class. Quite busy which means people come back. Nice fire and couch in bar. Very clean. Will be back when we are in the area. Quite a lot to do in the area which was a surprise.

Just back from a lovely couple of days, hotel was spotless and the food was great. We took our Dog and was the most spoilt dog ever! The Staff are fantastic and go above and beyond, will definitely be back.

If you are in the area this is a great choice to stop for dinner. We had no expectations - we just wanted to get out of the drizzle after a long walk! - but felt we'd lucked out by popping in here. We ate in the lounge bar area which is very cosy and well looked after. The food was definitely better than most pub grub, the ribs were excellent (not that I could quite finish the portion!). The staff were very nice and all in all it had a really friendly atmosphere. I'd be happy to go back, and it seemed like a nice place to stay too.

A lreally ovely hotel The staff were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Great food, served in dog friendly restaurant or bar. Our room was very clean and comfortable with all the essentials, including a doggy treat basket. Excellent.
