After a long day with most of our party cycling from Lairg we were given a really warm welcome by Karan. The accommodation was really comfortable and modern. We stayed in the cottages and a room in the hotel. We had a great dinner and breakfast provided by Luke. It is a real family team effort which makes for a wonderful experience for their guests. The setting of the hotel is amazing with the beautiful beach and headland on the doorstep for the walkers and swimmers among us. We could not have been happier to be there and all of us would love to go back.

Warm comfy beds, 1st class food for breakfast and dinner. Excellent service from owner and staff. Small and cosy bar area. Easy parking and 350 meters walk to local beach. Ideal location. Overall, a very comfortable Inn

Quaint cottage, well supplied. It would have been nice to have laundry soap for the washing machine because I didn?t realize we?d have a cottage with laundry machine available. Restaurant was excellent. Dinner an extra cost but delicious. Don?t miss the sticky toffee pudding. We had fish and chips and steak pie. Breakfast was included in the cost and it was also excellent. The beach was a short walk away and so beautiful. Tucked away into a private cove, you don?t want to kiss this.

We used the garden area for an overnight park up in our van, lovely quiet night. There are no facilities other than a place to park up, £10 charge. We decided to eat there and had flat iron steak with Chimichurri, service was fantastic but unfortunately the steak was terrible. The waiter swapped out our knives for steak knives but I had to ask for sharper ones. My partner gave up and couldn't eat it, the Chimichurri was lovely though and it looked fantastic.I'd give five stars for the place to park as we had a restful night but the food was a let downFood & drinks: Food was disappointing but the service was great

From the first telephone conversation with Luke I was impressed by his helpful charm. He greeted us warmly when we checked in and then left us in the very capable hands of Ryan, whose talents extend from receptionist to cocktail barman and from waiter to tour guide. He was like a whirlwind, so efficient and effective that he managed to serve the entire dining room with food and drinks , seemingly effortlessly, and with great charm and personality. Sadly, we had only booked in for one night but will definitely return. The room was spacious, the bed was so comfortable and the food at dinner and breakfast was supeb. A huge thanks.

Not many options for dinner along this section of the north coast, so as we were staying at the Inn overnight, booked dinner as well. We werent disappointed. We found the meals on our holiday excellent. We had the the beef or lamb pies. Beautifully cooked. Cozy dining room and good service.Breakfast next morning was also excellent with good range of options including in booking.

We received a warm and friendly welcome from Karan on arriving at the hotel with our two young children and dog. The location is stunning and the beach being just a couple of minutes walk was a huge plus point. Stayed in the garden cottage which was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable beds and very quiet, I was out like a light but would have appreciated black out curtains as I did wake quite early. Wifi signal was great which kept the wee ones happy once we were in from the beach for the night. We were put in the breakfast room for our evening meal which I really appreciated as I can feel on edge dining with 2 toddlers who don?t always want to sit still. Their dairy allergy was catered for and they went out of their way to offer us a dairy free pudding which wasn?t listed on the menu. The children enjoyed their fish and chips followed by sorbet while my partner and I both opted for steak which was cooked perfectly. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful and made us feel most welcome. We were first in for breakfast and again were provided with dairy free milk option for the wee ones. I really enjoyed my cooked breakfast and coffee was lovely. If I was being picky my only small complaint here was no fruit available and I asked for just bacon for my daughter and she was only given one rasher so she also had one of the two rashers from my plate. You can definitely tell that the whole team work hard and really care about the hotel. Yes some wee bits aren?t 100% perfect but I think some other reviewers perhaps haven?t stayed in a family run hotel in the pretty remote highlands before and forget it?s not a big chain. I would definitely return to stay longer than one night.

Having given our trip some thought we felt the need to provide feedback. We visited the property for a two night cottage stay. From the website it looked like a traditional cottage so we were quite excited. The price for the area was high however put this down to the accommodation. On arrival we were very disappointed with the standard of accommodation. The surrounding countryside however and the location of the properties allowed us to overlook the many issues. We paid for the accommodation on arrival, we had booked 2 adults 1 child and 1 dog (£450). We stayed both nights for meals at an extra cost. The food was ok, however the price was high for the standard. However Ryan?s exceptional service skills cannot be ignored ( well done). However on our second and final night (after 2 x breakfasts and 2 x evening meals) we were provided with our bill for our dinner (we thought) with additional charges. At no stage did any of the owners/management or staff approach us to discuss these additional charges. Coming from highland blood myself I am an up front person and prefer others to be the same. The highland hospitality is very sadly missing from this great loss of possibilities. I feel very sad for the inevitable end to this plot within one of the most enchanting and gorgeous places in the world. I feel no value in discussing these items as this bears no importance. Other than please do not ever treat people like that again. This kind of service will always lose you customers. Of interesting comment, Ryan on our final morning were you embarrassed to face us or were you angry? If you cannot be up front then at least be nice. Overall we can ignore all of the above as we will never return. This part of scotland needs to get this right and this place is missing the point.
