On a day trip to Beauly we bought food at The Friary chip shop because we heard that it was very good. What a disappointment. It was awful. I think the cooking oil was the same age as the chippy itself. The food was dreadful. I can still taste the cooking oil in my mouth. I won't be back. They clearly can't cook fish and chips. Maybe they should ask the Italian's for advice and change their cooking oil. I don't recommend this chippy and will be telling family and friends to avoid it.

Our last day in Scotland and went for a chippy here. The best we have had and great portions. Haggis was good as well. Highly recommended.

Staff are always very pleasant, food is piping hot, chips are delish! If you enjoy a chipper, youll LOVE the friary. I go whenever I'm passing through beauly... and sometimes just go to beauly for the Friary. I'm a veggie and love their vege sausages. I'm told the fish and fishy thisngs are spot on too. Ooh, and fried pizza... man, I was only there last night and want to go back again now ?

Great chippy. Kind staff and food is always fantastic! My fiancé and i just live in Kirkhill so it's so good having such a good fish and chip shop so close to us.
Can be a little busy/crowded at times (due to it being a small building), but that's understandable with how popular it is :D

Arrived just after they'd closed for the evening - staff happily opened the door & offered me the last pirtion of chips!
After a solid evening of mountainbiking, that was just what I needed!

Oh My Gosh Best Fish and Chips in ages ? like nearly the best ever? maybe even .. How do you make that batter on the fish taste so crisp delicious and not oily and fatty at the same time? Tasted like a work of art? we would?ve come back and said thank you and told you, but we had moved down the road a bit?. But blumming delicious? Well done guys keep doing that? Absolutely delicious fish and chips! I ordered the scampi & chips, deep-fried pizza, a side of mushy peas, and it blew my mind! They also have homemade tartar sauce and garlic mayo dips for purchase that are a MUST for your meal! The staff were all so friendly and kind as well.
