“Impulse visit when passing to purchase one item. Got what I needed but also a basket of items I otherwise wouldn't have purchased. Good for Iceland profits, not so good for my finances. That's impulse shopping for you.”

“This is a great store for getting bits and bobs in between main shops. The staff are lovely and great to speak with. Great opening hours and parking is always easy.I haven’t given 5 stars as the milk is always really low on stock and there are no fresh cookies which you can get in other Scotmid/Coop stores.”

“Co-Op has been part of my life since childhood. Back in the day it was not just food it was all about collecting stamps and getting shoes or boots in my birth town. Before that there was the Co' Hall for the dancing. Things have changed from the great auld days. Sadly now it is just another store in the town to pick up what is needed for the weekly shop....However, I still love the idea of walking into the local Co', the staff are auld roots through and through and that is what a town needs...However the Co-op today overall has kind of forgotten they were the backbone for villages and towns where the most struggling would be fed at the most affordable prices with the best foods....I understand today is not yesterday and I will continue to use my town Co-op maybe more for my Grannie's memories and her stamps than cost affordability. Despite that view, staff are fantastic, store is clean and easy to wander through.”

“Tesco in Bathgate is a convenient shopping destination with a diverse selection of products, making it a go-to choice for many. The store is generally well-maintained, but there are a few key areas where improvements could make a significant difference in the overall shopping experience. One aspect that could benefit from enhancement is the customer service. While the staff is generally polite, a bit more friendliness and proactiveness when approached for help would go a long way. Shoppers often appreciate guidance, especially when searching for specific items or navigating the store. Improved friendliness and assistance from the staff would undoubtedly make the shopping experience more enjoyable.Another area for improvement lies in the communication of staff responsible for picking items for delivery. Ensuring clear and timely communication about order status is essential for building customer confidence and trust. This could greatly enhance the overall online shopping and delivery experience for customers.Weekend shopping can be challenging, as it tends to get crowded, and it can sometimes appear that there may be a shortage of staff to manage the increased footfall. To address this issue, having more staff available during peak times, particularly on weekends, would significantly improve the shopping experience and reduce wait times.Furthermore, there is a need for additional self-checkout stations. With the growing demand for self-service options, providing more self-checkout counters would help alleviate congestion and enhance efficiency at the checkout.Despite these areas for improvement, Tesco in Bathgate remains a reliable and well-stocked supermarket. Its extensive product range and overall store cleanliness make it a popular choice for grocery shopping. With some adjustments to customer service, staff communication, and checkout options, it has the potential to provide an even better shopping experience. Therefore, I would rate it 4 stars, acknowledging its strengths and recognizing the opportunities for improvement.”
