The very best scones ever. Staff helpful and friendly.
Surroundings are clean, bright and jolly.
However, sorry to say that the cafe is so noisy it's painful. The clattering of dishes (mainly from the kitchen area), hissing coffee machine, chairs being dragged instead of lifted made it impossible to hear what companions were saying. (Noise amplification probably due to open kitchen area and hard furnishings.)

Extremely rude staff, couldn?t have been any less welcoming or helpful - stared at us blankly and ignored us at the till. Young one with clip in her hair particularly bad.

Consistently good quality soups, sandwiches and cakes. Simple but clean surroundings and pleasant staff. An excellent casual dining venue.
Parking: Plenty of spaces close to the building.

Love the homemade soup! Good selection of cakes. Handy with kids play park, you can even sit outside in nice weather.
Kid-friendliness: Play park outside, kids meals, highchairs

Very poor quality food and portions for the price. £6 for a baked tattie (tuna mayo) that had no butter, no seasoning and no cheese, less quality than one I could have made at home. Partner got a toastie, again £6 for cheap bread 1 and a half slices of ham and mustard, no cheese and it also tasted very cheap and bland. Just feels as though they have a bad cook and charge too much for how below standard the food and overall vibe of the cafe is. Staff didn?t go out of their way to be friendly either, all very quiet and talking to themselves more than the customers who are ordering. If you?re in the balmedie area for the beach and want to nip in somewhere for a bite to eat I?d probably skip here and go to a different pub or cafe.

We paid £18-45 for two toasted sandwiches and two drinks, and frankly it wasn't worth it.The sandwiches were awful. I don't even think they were toasted. The tomato was cold and the vegan cheese wasn't even melted - not sure what brand they are using, but there are a couple of lovely vegan melting cheeses which they could opt for instead. The side salad also tasted old.The other thing is, it's not near the beach, so if you're looking for a beachfront view - you won't get it here.
