We ate here twice and also had takeaway. First time was breakfast - lovely breakfasts which catered confidently and safely for dairy allergy. Second time was lunch, again great dairy and gluten free options - we opted for baked tatties and paninis - the homemade More

We had just returned from the 7 bridges walk around Ballater - which I also highly recommend! And we needed a seat and a cup of coffee! The cafe is really nicely decorated and feels cosy inside. We had some coffee, iced coffee and a More

This place is perfect and we would highly recommend. It is perfect for whisky lovers as it is a whisky & wilderness themed lodge. The lodge is very cosy and has a wood burning fire to enjoy a dram of whisky infront of. It is More

On a return visit after a few years, we enjoyed lunch here. On this occasion it was just soup and a roll. Everything was fine. A pleasant repast before going round the town again.

Lovely coffee spot. Great coffee! We had the breakfast and a toastie one morning. Went back we had yogurt with fruit and homemade granola. Also had a breakfast sandwich. Scones are delicious too! Friendly staff and great service

We often have lunch at the Bothy when we?re in Ballater. You often have to wait for a table (which is a good sign) and you are well fed with generous portion sizes of good quality food. Be sure to have a cake or scones More

The staff's abrupt and unfriendly manner would have made this an unpleasant enough visit. Unfortunately the coffee was dire and the bacon roll was underfilled. A previous review was incorrect this isn?t a dog friendly cafe.

We were looking for soup for lunch on a chilly day. It was a bit thin and insipid, and expensive for what it was.

Pear and ginger cake is fabulous. Recommend the roasted veg baked potato. Lovely coffee the tea for two is a proper sized pot. Best of all dog friendly. Tip go in and towards the back to sit with views of the river.

Lovely cafe. Young girl behind the counter, greeted us with a lovely smile. Well mannered and polite. Plenty space, clean and the bonus of a log fire. Coffee was good, but the best thing was the millionaires shortbread. Probably the best I?ve ever tasted. Well More

Having had a poor experience of the Bothy in Braemar we moved on to Ballater and discovered this treat of a place! We were relieved to find this Bothy is ?no dogs allowed (except guide dogs) ? which is really important to us when eating. More
