Lovely cafe in Ballater, the place was beautiful and suited the vintage/antique style whilst still being modern and sleek. Hot chocolate was tasty as was the pesto and Parmesan scone with some lovely chunky chips (not pictured). Food selection look diverse and interesting, alcoholic drinks available as well as mocktails. If you?re in the area definitely go here for lunch with a lovely historical vibe.

Great atmosphere, but the food is average. The salmon sandwich was salty as hell, slaw was tasteless. I recommend it just as an attraction, because the inner look and style is amazing and unique.

Loved our visit to this rebuilt themed railway station. Everything spotlessly clean with the Victorian period rooms and the copy of a Royal train carriage adding to the beauty of this place. We had the soup of the day (pumpkin); a ham, cheese and red onion panini (came with a small portion of red cabbage slaw and salad leaves) and coffee. The soup came in a large bowl and the panini a good size so we got what we paid for. If anything, the panini could have been toasted for that bit longer to crisp up and melt the cheese more. Food and drinks were delicious and would most certainly recommend a visit, if only to see the wonderful period rooms. Staff were attentive, they gave me a lot of info about the rooms and the old station. In fact, I almost missed Q Victoria's waiting room until I was told I must see it. This is a bright, warm and very inviting place, being next door to the tourist office it's highly recommended to visit if in the area.

We drove all the way there only to be told that we had to reserve 48 HOURS in advance for the afternoon tea. So yeah, if you?re in the area hoping to pop in, don?t bother. We were extremely disappointed.

If you are looking for a upscale place for tea, this is the place. Presentation was 10/10 along with the decor. Food options are a bit limited but the rolls are delightful. Price was high but not unreasonable. Good place for a cup of tea on a cold tea.

Most expensive scones on Deeside. We visited for an afternoon coffee and scones. The drinks were satisfactory but the scones were average in quality and size while very expensive at £4.95 for a one scone served with a single pack of butter. No jam or cream. Not even table service. Very overpriced and under whelming.

Polite and courteous service in a wonderful setting - a re-furbished Victorian railway station, as used by royalty.Good coffee and baking, with a warm welcome!

Great location in the old refurbished train station. Service was good in this cafe but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The fresh fruit scone was very dry and served with a jelly rather than a proper scottish jam. The Cullen Skink unfortunately was possibly the worst that we have every tasted, with a strange flavour, little to no fish, and should have been more accurately described as a leek and potato soup so not recommended. The panini we had was ok but we thought the cost of the drinks ordered were simply too high but possibly set that high for the tourist trade. The local tin of beer cost £5 and a small glass of prosecco(125ml) taken from an open bottle costing £8 is simply not worth it. On commenting on our disappointment over the food a refund was offered immediately reflecting the good service.

We stopped for a bite of lunch. Nice decor and good tea. The afternoon teas also looked very nice. However, service was rather slow when we visited (which might have been a one off) and the paninis we ordered were fine but not amazing.

We visited twice in one day! For lunch and then for a 5pm cake and coffee treat! The food was lovely and staff were friendly ?? The setting is so unique, like an old train carriage, and there is a replica carriage that you can look at too! Would definitely recommend
