Rooms are comfy, staff is friendly, the food at the restaurant is delicious, and the views are amazing.

I had a brief one night stay. I was on a business trip rather than on vacation.
I have given it 5 stars but on a knife edge for four stars.
Friendly hotel with pleasant staff and nice food. A bit dated but clean and comfortable. The above reasons are why it came close to four star but on balance was five.
My personal comment which is so specific to a business trip that I have not included it in my score is breakfast starting at 8 am is too late.

I loved staying at Loch Leven Hotel. Had a great whiskey lesson. The food was amazing, the views fantastic & the staff were lovely & super helpful.

Overall great stay. As many of the others reviews have stated, the place as a whole is a little dated? it could use a fresh coat of paint, and some minor cosmetic renovations. I found 2 giant spiders in my room in the bathroom when i arrived, but it?s sort of nested a wooded area so I guess that happens.
The food was quite good, and the staff was friendly and helpful. My room was advertised as small, and it was, but it had what was needed for a night stay: private bathroom, place to hang clothes, coffee/tea in the room, comfortable bed. It also had a view of the loch.
I might stay here again, but you run the risk of having a room that?s a little out of date, even if clean and comfortable? just feels old. But that carries with it a certain charm that makes it a nice stay. It is also in a great location especially for exploring Glencoe and the surrounding region.
Other: parking available on site; if you want a tour of the distillery book beforehand.

Beautiful location and friendly staff, however, this is a very dated hotel and is not worth the roughly 340 GBP per night that we paid. We stayed in what is supposed to be one of their nicer rooms - the deluxe double. The room felt very dated, and not in a good way. No hair dryer or telephone in the room. No facial tissues. Poor toiletries. Small and uncomfortable shower. Toilet squished against a wall. Bed was comfortable at least. We had dessert in the restaurant in the evening which was very good, but breakfast was poor. The scrambled eggs were tasteless. While not a terrible hotel, a very poor value for the price.

The location of the Loch Leven Hotel is fantastic. But that?s about it on the positive side. The room was as expensive as the room at the at the Fortingall but the room at the latter was incomparably better. The Loch Leven bathroom was truly depressing - plastic shower booth, wall heater, sink with unadorned mirror. What else? Wifi didn?t work, TV reception was terrible, food was bland. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff couldn?t make up for the disappointment of the rooms and hotel in general

Great place to stay. Good base for walking or driving around the Glencoe area. The hotel is managed by Paul. The staff are friendly and efficient especially Erika and James. The chef is to be commended, the food is delicious and the choice for vegetarians was excellent. 5 stars all round. Well done Paul and his team.

Location great, room very poor and not clean or pleasant at all, dirty and cheap. This was by far the most overpriced hotel we stayed in over our NC500 route. The food and drink were even more overpriced too. I wouldn?t go back even though location was nice that is literally the only redeeming factor, everything else for price was not even passable just tolerable. Owner seemed a bit rude.

I admit i was skeptical due to previous reviews but please do not believe !
We have been traveling and stayed in many places and this was one of the BEST!
We had an amazing stay at Loch Leven Hotel, The location was amazing with beautiful views from the hotel and our room.
the hotel itself has so much charm, lovely reading room w chess table set up. Outside deck leading to the water.
Views of bridge mountains.
The staff was friendly helpful and had my best cocktail during our travels. The personalized Gin distillery tour w owner Craig was over the top informative interesting funny and the Gin was wonderful!
Dinner was one of the best we had during our travels- Fresh ingredients and memorable Steak w puréed carrots , beets
best mashed potatoes, a fresh feta cheese salad, tomato basil soup . my Husbands Spinach stuffed ravioli was fresh snacking and one of the best ever had anywhere!!
Desserts were to die -a poached pear w chocolate sauce, fresh ice cream , cheesecake and a rhubarb crumble
Afterwards enjoyed a walk down to the water
Recommend staying here worth every penny!!!

Checking in was easy room was perfect with a view of the Loch Leven. We decided to go on the Gin Distillery tour, which was the best tour, so much to learn. I've never been a Gin drinker, but after tasting three of the Pixel Spirits Gins, all I can say is I have been missing out. Craig, the owner, is a genius... Dinner for me was the Ravioli, and again, Wow, I wanted to lick the plate clean. Deserts, as well, simply delicious. This is a great place, and it is wonderful to explore the views. Our Bed was perfect. I slept great, best bed so far on our 8 days here in Scotland.

Lovely location, nice walks from the hotel and obviously an amazing gateway for tourists. I was here for work. Breakfast only from 8 and no exception made. Also no hairdryer in the room but when they unlocked the door to the bar at 8 am I got one. Rushed breakfast tho

I stayed at this great little hotel recently with a small group of friends and it was absolutely wonderful. Lovely rooms, good food, beautiful views and exceptionally warm and friendly staff. Highly recommend and a more beautiful location than Fort William in my opinion!

Awful stay here. Dirty uncleaned room with dead insects and used tissues on the floor. Grime smeared shower, bad odour and loud disturbing noise. Poor jelly-like mattress and bad food. Worst hotel

Don't stay here! Beautiful location, filthy smelly hotel room. The room had dead beetle and used tissues behind the bedside cabinet. Grimy shower screen with brown substance along the edges. Shabby marked walls and a musky odour. Dust everywhere Couldn't open the windows due to a persistent loud tone. Mattress is so soft you sink and gives no support. We would have left but had paid upfront. Complained but told to write in, after several emails we were given lots of excuses and offered 30% off our next stay! Would rather sleep in the loch! Food was overpriced and below average. Avoid at all costs
